Amy and Jennifer continue to fight for that card! The EMP grouped with Amy and Jen on the final day tomorrow. Should be a comfortable grouping...good friends, all over 30 and on Tour over 10 years...and Jen never got a win either! Currently 3 shots out of a Top 20. I don't know what to make of this ... the scoring after five rounds is ludicrous, especially among the top-10. I still can't take some of these players seriously ... Mack Attack, the mindless ball basher is suddenly a golfer? Gurleen Kaur could not pass last year's USWO qualifier at Echo Lake ... heck, she got outplayed by Kumkang Park. Robyn Choi has a dozen top-10s on the scrub tour in the last two seasons, but can you really buy 25-under here? Savannah Grewal set Clemson's scoring record in 2022-23 with a 71.77 average, which is very good, but not earth-shattering ... so, the RTJ courses played easier for her compared where she played as a college senior?!

Somebody decided to dumb down the course, which is probably not the best thing to do this late in the game. Players who have worked hard to get a good position might miss a card because their putter goes slightly cold? Not a good look. One of the players who didn't have to worry about that was So Mi Lee. Her 63 today was apparently tied for the lowest score in Q-Series history, or at least on this course. Choi cooled off slightly, but still shot a solid round, but it was not enough to hold off So Mi. Can she get the win and make it three straight for the Sisters? Well, regardless, barring a catastrophe, the card will be hers. Eugene and Joon are in solid positions as well with 69 and 68 respectively. If by some tragedy one of them goes above, say, 75, they could still miss out, but the odds are good for a full card. Jin Hee Im had her worst round of the week, a 72, but she's still a couple of strokes above the good-card line. If she can bring her 4x winner form or anything like it she'll be fine. Lee5 is right on the line after a solid 68. Jung Min Hong made a nice move into the conditional cards, and if she can do something like that tomorrow, she, too can get a full card. Haeji Kang and Min A Yoon are on the edge of getting a partial card. Good luck to all tomorrow! Hwaiting! 1 So Mi Lee CC -27 68-65-70-65-63 331 2 Robyn Choi CC -25 69-68-64-64-68 333 3 Mao Saigo CC -24 69-68-65-66-66 334 4 Yuri Yoshida CC -21 67-69-67-65-69 337 T5 Polly Mack CC -17 71-68-69-68-65 341 - Hyo Joon Jang CC -17 69-66-67-71-68 341 - Yu Jin Sung CC -17 68-68-69-67-69 341 T8 Mina Harigae CC -16 68-66-68-70-70 342 Notables: T13 Jin Hee Im CC -13 68-69-66-70-72 345 - Lucy Li CC -13 70-67-67-69-72 345 T20 Yealimi Noh CC -12 70-66-70-73-67 346 - Jeongeun Lee5 CC -12 72-70-69-67-68 346 Conditional Cards: T27 Jung Min Hong CC -10 72-69-69-70-68 348 - Jennifer Song CC -10 69-65-73-69-72 348 T35 Kelly Tan CC -9 72-72-67-71-67 349 T43 Haeji Kang CC -8 71-71-70-69-69 350 - Trichat Cheenglab CC -8 67-69-71-73-70 350 No Card: T49 Saki Baba CC -7 69-74-68-71-69 351 - Min A Yoon CC -7 72-71-69-67-72 351 T54 Annie Park CC -6 71-72-69-70-70 352

With just a couple hours to go, it's getting tight. Most of the Sisters are around even par today. Jung Min Hong is on the cut line, as is Min A Yoon, for getting any card. Jin Hee Im is just inside the line for the top card. Robyn Choi has somehow retaken the lead by one over So Mi. I wasn't expecting another 63 from So Mi, but hopefully she can rally and get the win.
Hwaiting!

Two back nine bogies and it looks like Jung Min Hong is not going to get a card. It's still possible the card level will fall to 8 under, where she finished, but right now it's at 9 under. Min A Yoon and Baba also missed out. And Haeji Kang. I wonder if this is it for her career?
Dramatic final day so far!

Jin Hee Im is t-17th with one to play. Not having a great day. If she birdies she has a full card. If she pars, she's probably going to be in a playoff with, among others, Jennifer Song and Yealimi Noh. If she bogies, she gets a conditional card.
* I've read both that there will be a playoff and only the top 20 get category 14, and that top 20 and ties will get category 14. Don't know which is correct.

I believe there isn't any playoffs; Jin Hee Im will be T17 but rankes #22. The ranking is based on final round score; if there is a tie on final round score then score of the previous round and etc.

Thanks, I'm not too worried about her rank, because I think she will quickly elevate herself with her play next year.
Meanwhile, there is one player still on the course at 9 under, and the 8 unders are t-46th. If that player makes a bogey, Hong gets a card. If she pars or better, Hong and the other 8 under players don't get cards. Crazy stuff.
Meanwhile, Robyn Choi has made two bogies, but So Mi made one and is still a shot behind her. Three holes to go. Come on So Mi! Get that #1 spot!!!!

The -8s did manage to sneak in at T45.
Hat tip to Lauren Hartlage for shooting a 63 after failing to crack 70 the previous rounds. The winner Robin Choi never failed to crack 70.
Japanese players Yuri Yoshida and Mao Saigo are in like Flynn. Back to the drawing board for Baba.
Americans Lucy Li, Yealimi Noh and Mina Harigae live to work another season.

Surprised that So Mi Lee shot over par the last round to miss out on the win. I expect great things from her and will follow her and cheer her on if she comes to Phoenix.
Also congratulations to Korean born Robyn Choi, I been keeping an eye on her. She has been having a tough time and I am glad to see her get her card and high seeding.

Q-Series is over! Congrats to the Sisters who earned cards! It was a tough day for the Koreans, with most of them hovering around even par all day. It looked like Jung Min Hong might have blown her chance at a card after two late bogies, but the last possible player made a bogey on the last possible hole, allowing Hong to rise to t-45 and earn a card after all. Phew! So Mi had by far her worst day of the week, but it's not surprising she slowed down a bit after the 63. Alas, she ended up losing after being within one with three holes to go. Indeed, Choi made a late bogey that would have tied things up, but So Mi also bogied and remained one back. Still, her t-2 finish got her a juicy LPGA card. Joning her are the other three KLPGA players. Yu Jin, Jin Hee Im and Hyo Joon Jang all grabbed top level cards, and Lee5 grabbed the next level card. This is the most KLPGA golfers to enter the LPGA in one year since 2015, when we got Ha Na Jang, Sei Young Kim, Hyo Joo Kim and Q Baek all the same year (Minjee Lee, too!). Time will tell if this class can compare to that one, where all four players would become LPGA winners. But having this influx is bound to help the morale of the Koreans already in the States. Even more interesting is that there was only one Thai who earned a card this year. But the Chinese are quickly becoming the Next Big Thing. Four earned full cards (in the top 20) although none of them finished in the top ten interestingly. Congrats also to Yealimi, Jennifer and Annie. And of course Robyn. I have to admit it feels like her week was of those flukes that sometimes happens at Q-School. There's nothing in her history that shows she's about to become a major star; she's ranked outside the top 300 at the moment. But congrats to her for the win and good luck next season proving me wrong! And congrats to the Sisters again. Congrats So Mi! Ayake Furue and Han Sol Ji are among those who congratulated her here! https://www.instagram.com/p/C0h1tJpOP_A P.S. the haircut was not entirely an aesthetic choice. From her Instagram: "I was too embarrassed to speak up, but I had a scalp problem for the past three years and it was very itchy and difficult during games. If you watch the broadcast, you will often see that you are scratching... I had to use a drug with steroids, but I couldn't use the medicine properly because I was caught doping, and the hospital told me that the only way to do it was to cut my hair short. Cutting my long hair wasn't an easy choice, so I held on until this year it got a lot worse and I ended up cutting it... My head is going to grow again anyway... Yes... Thank you for cutting it so beautifully though!!"
