I cannot believe the LPGA; they had a Headline that Mone Anami won her first LPGA Tournament. You click on it and the article was all about Zhang third round score, how she played holes and an Interview. Said nothing about her shooting only two under when she was in the hunt the Final round.
Other than the Headline, zero about Mone Anami
If they are going nuts abought the seven under par third round by Zhang. They should have given a shout out to thirty-five-year-old Jiyai Shin who shot seven under in the Final Round. When it counted to finish two off the lead and not in fifteenth place. On the JLPGA Website Mone Anami said she will talk it over with her Team before making a decision about joining the LPGA.

How many sisters are teeing up this week? I think Jenny Shin is with her mum in Korea and is taking a week off before the CME.

How many sisters are teeing up this week? I think Jenny Shin is with her mum in Korea and is taking a week off before the CME. I counted thirteen sisters (if I counted correctly) out of 120 golfers on the tournament entries page. Maybe this weekend thirteen will be a lucky number, along with SIX and FIVE who are both entered...

According to the Korean media, if Hae Ran Ryu finishes 12th or better this week she will clinch the Rookie of the Year award. Worst case, even if Grace Kim wins and Ryu doesn't finish, Kim still will have to play really well next week to snatch the ROY.
So, basically, it's in Hae Ran's court. Good luck to her! Hope she clinches this week!

My field rating for this event is a pretty solid 62.5 %, although that is down from 67% last year. My breakdown is 70% from the LPGA Priority List and 55% from the Rolex Rankings. Nine of the top ten players in the world rankings will be teeing it up, the only top ten player skipping the event is Minjee Lee.
This is a very important week as it is the last week to finish in the top 60 and qualify for next week's CMA Championship.
The Monday Qualifiers are: Austin Kim (USA) -5 Jennifer Song (USA) -5
Other news: Mone Anami was the 2nd Non-LPGA member to win a tournament this year. She has declined LPGA membership for 2023 and has untill next week to decide on her 2024 membership. Anami was also the 13th first time winner on tour this season, extending the record breaking year. Anami was the first winner from Japan this year. Her victory was the 6th decided by one stroke this year. Twelve other tournaments were decided in a playoff, meaning 18 of the 29 events played this year came down to the last stroke.
There was no changes in the Rolex Rankings by LPGA players worth reporting, although non-LPGA winner Mone Inami jumped up from 93 to 72.
In the very important Race to the CME Globe, where this is the final week to finish in the top 60, and have a chance at the 2 million dollar first prize next week: Gemma Dryburgh (60 to 50) and Jasmine Suwannapura (58 to 49) wrapped up spots. The following players are now on the outside looking in, and this week's tournament is their final chance to qualify: #61 Patty Tavakanakit #62 Sarah Schmelzel #63 Lauren Coughlin #64 Eun-He Ji #65 Mi Hyang Lee
Atthaya Thitikul has finished in the top ten in 63% of her tournaments this year. She is followed by Nelly Korda (50%) and Hyo Joo Kim (47%).

Caddie list is out ... blank name next to Dumbo. The Old Ko has Paul Cormack ... he was with Nordqvist during 2019-21. Waitwait Zhang picks up John Killeen, a name I've heard many times ... he was with many players in Getty Images, including Meg Mallon at her 2004 USWO win. J. Song switched to Jackie Schram, who's been around the block a few times (had Frida Kinhult last year) ... working out well, as I don't remember Jen ever passing a Monday qualifier before.
********
MHL gets Boonchant (CME 94) and Unlucky Five (CME 104) this AM. I like how they grouped some of the players who are hovering near the CME top-100 ... they can give each other the stink eye :
Harigae 98, Szeryk 99, Munoz 100
The EMP 102, Hsu 103, Talley 105
As for the top-60 and getting into The Globe, how about these:
Kemp 55, Fernando 59, Bianca 60
Borge 58, Paphangkorn 61, Schmelzel 62
*******
Practice -
Furoo
Yuna
Mannika
Shibuno Fever

I get to see some live LPGA coverage here in the U.K. 3pm start time on TV. Will be interesting to see who is on In Gee’s bag. I like Dean but maybe she needs a younger, fitter man alongside her.

I haven't seen Dean lately; isn't she using Sean Clewes (Hee Won Han's former caddie I think) currently?

Jin Young Ko on a hot streak

Looks like another fairly easy setup, which is a major benefit for Thitikul. She will almost certainly improve her scoring average, and since Hyo Joo is not in the field, she could close or even pass her with a good enough week.
TBH, I feel like it's inevitable I'll be disappointed again, but I'm going to keep hoping that Hyo Joo rallies next week and get that trophy.

Jin Young Ko on a hot streak Jin Young! I only got to watch about five or ten minutes of the morning coverage. Jin Young was wearing "Fur-oo yellow" so that must have brought her luck...

Finally In Gee gets a move on. Even after 12 holes. -4 after 18. That’s my lady!
