The cut was -3 and 55 players made it. The round two stream worked perfectly, too bad it was only 55 minutes. It missed almost all the fireworks of Chairwoman Mao and Kana Nagai tying the tourney course record with 63s. The broadcast was constantly flashing graphics of the Mercedes Points scoreboard, mostly the 51 thru 55 ranked players (related to the 2024 player priority list). It also showed Miyuu Yamashita with a 2.32 point lead over The Shinster (not playing this week) for first place. There's also a focus on the year-end Ricoh Cup Tour Championship in two weeks, which will have a field of 40 ... qualifications:
1. JLPGA Tour winner of the relevant year 2. JLPGA members who won the USLPGA Tour in the current year 3. Top 50 JLPGA members in the Rolex Ranking as of November 7 of the relevant year 4. Top Mercedes rankings for the year up to the week before the tournament *Qualification for 4 will only be granted if the number of participants up to 3 is less than the 40 participants.

Good that Mone Inami decided to join the LPGA next year. Didn't do like Hinako Shibuno did, turn it down, then decided to go to Q-School. If Mone Inami don't like the LPGA she can return to the JLPGA.
I thought that Kotone Hori was ranked higher on the Points List. I had been mostly checking on Yui Kawamoto points.

Chairwoman Mao's WITB ... used to be a Mizzy staffer, now contract free ... is also planning ahead to the LPGA, saying the Yamaha FWs will get the ball up out of Western grasses where it sinks to the bottom. Her focus is getting and keeping her driver in check (hit 39 of 42 fairways at Ito En) ... has gone back to a draw which she used to hit long ago with repetitive ease at "Jumbo's mansion".
