Ting Ting will defend her title starting Friday ... field of 108, top-50 plus ties make the cut ... no working TV streams this week.
YAWN ... don't know how the locals view this tour these days, but there is definitely a lull in "buzz" as I see it. The departures of Shibuno Fever, Saso, Furoo, Yuna and Katsu in such a short period of time have knocked the JLPGA for a loop ... and the "spikes" of Inami (2021), Chairwoman Mao (2022) and Yamashita (2023) have NOT made up the difference ... plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Yamashita jumps into the Q-series in November. Sakura Koiwai and Yuri Yoshida are popular, but haven't had a consistent grip on this tour. Do they have anyone now who can generate "traffic jam" and "parking lot full" warnings on the JLPGA website? That's what they had when Shibuno came back from AIG in 2019. This tour also needs some new and young Koreans that can really play and are worth being drooled over by the local media. Put the golf magazine publishers over there on truth serum and ask them if a cover with The Shinster or SW Bae will be a big seller on the newstands ... I think you know the answer.

Maybe it's a good that I don't have a free stream for this one. They're at a different venue this year (GOLF5 Country Bibai Course in Hokkaido) and it shows ... I've never seen a course in Japan look this bad in pictures, ever ... on its worst day, Evian never looked this bad.

Does Reika have the same issue as Baba-chan, where she needs to special order extra-long sunsleeves? Although on Reika, it looks like the short sleeves may be more of a fashion statement. Weird tan lines though.
