Cherry Lim is making her KLPGA debut as a pro this week. She has been considered a golf prodigy since she first picked up a club at age 5. At age 10 she appeared in a Volvic commercial. A few months ago she won her first Dream Tour event, and now she's getting her first shot at the big leagues since turning pro.   Her goal this week is just to get experience in preparation for possibly joining the tour next year. Good luck to her! [EDIT]: I wonder if this is the ad? |

I watched only the early part of the broadcast last night ... they had a couple of briefs looks at Human starting on the back nine, who wasn't doing anything. So, I got up this AM and found out she torched the front nine with a five birdie finish! This is UNACCEPTABLE.  She needs to get off this Mickey Mouse tour and play in front of me or at a decent viewing hour on TV in the U.S.
The video graphic at 2:32 says her 8-iron goes 130-140 meters, NOT yards.

Min Byeol struggled on the two side-ending par 5s. On the first one, she drove under a parked cart, gouged her second out but still in the long rough, hit her third over the green, pitched to ten feet and made a lengthy par putt. But she bogied the last hole (after the broadcast ended) to drop out of the top ten. Still, she's in good position to make a run.
More concerning is that she kept putting an ice pack on her side between shots. The commentator suspected it might be sore/an injury, but so far it isn't clear. Stay tuned.

The SBS Golf broadcast for Round Two has been changed to 1 PM local time.   Are you kidding ... I'm setting my alarm for 1:45 AM EST ... Human will tee off 5 minutes later and Su Ji 10 minutes after that. |
