The Queens Hill GC is a new venue for this event ... opened in 1992 in Itoshima City, which is roughly the same latitude as Jeju Island ... it will be mid to high 80s this week and they'll be dodging t-storms. The course map has blue stuff on most of the holes ... par-4 18th is 435 yards:
Tuesday prep:
Mi Jeon Jeong
Hana Lee
Saiki Fujita
On the town Tuesday night:
Nanoko Hayashi, Rumi Yoshiba and Yui Kawamoto
Chisato and Aki Iwai .,.. you can tell them apart by noticing that Aki is always the more butch-looking of the two.
Mamiko Higa and Kana Nagai
Wednesday prep -
Erika Kikuchi
Back from making some $ at the USWO, Kana Mikashima ...
.... and Haruka Kawasaki

Starting this week, the JLPGA will use Yamato Transport to send everyone's golf bag on a dedicated flight to the next tournament and continue doing this through the end of the season in November ... not clear if that also includes the players regular luggage. The increase in 4-day events helped prompt this change. I thought they already had a service like this, but I guess not. From the JLPGA press release:
The Women's Professional Golfers' Association of Japan will continue to aim for the continuous growth and development of the tour by streamlining operations and realizing unified hospitality for players by connecting the entire tour horizontally.
Handle with care Sunday night ... especially the RomaRo bag with the weird unknown (to me) irons.

That is some impressive corporate doublespeak. They could use it to announce just about anything. I guess it's better to be horizontal than vertical.

Good start Kotone is minus three through eighth hole. Yui Kawamoto made birdie on her first hole, a long way to go but at least she made a birdie. She said that she was going to try harder on her Instagram

As usual, the Korean Golf News IG has nothing posted on The Unknown Korean.
BTY, only 8 birdies in 120 tries at the par-4 18th with a GIR percentage of 45.8 ... the LPGA would blow up this hole.

The Unknown Korean was not shown in the two JLPGA highlight YT videos from Round One ... that will change soon, her swing is too pure to be denied forever.

The score of -4 tied the tour record for lowest cut line and 60 players made it. An article says they had heavy rain there ten days ago and have restricted the cutting of the greens, which are stimping only 9.25.

Mio Kotaki's WITB ... she bought the 2012 Rocketbalz FWs while in high school:
Driver: Akira ADR PLATINUM (9.5 degrees) Shaft: Mitsubishi Chemical VANQUISH (Length 46 inches, Weight 50g, Hardness SR) 3,5W: Taylormade RBZ (15,19° genuine RB-50 SR,S) UT: AKIRA ADR Platinum (21,24°Tour AD HY65 SR) 6I-PW: AKIRA prototype KS-901FH (NS850 neo R) A, SW: AKIRA Tour Wedge IV (48, 52, 58° NS950 neo S) PT: Odyssey 2-BALL TEN Triple Track BALL: Titleist Pro V1
********
Older pics of Kotaki indicate some interesting gear choices ... turned pro in 2017 gaming Nike woods and probably a Bridgestone ball (she wore a 'B' glove). In 2018 she wore a Maruman or Majesty visor and played a Maruman Majesty driver. She switched to Akira in 2019.
