I finally joined the 21st century and will provide LIVE reports. Arrived at 9:05 am ... range rats include Aditi, Meadow, Darquea, French Gamecock and Uribe. Ji and Korda TWO just showed up. I'm not sure the funky iron passes of Celine Borge will make it around here.

JTibs doing the heavy lifting with 4 women who hit drivers from the red tees at par-3 6th ... btw, tough pin with flag on the left, going over water and bunker. JS had a shot of 155-160 and dropped about 18 feet right of hole. Her looper has a GB & I accent, but she's not talking like him ... yet.

The Kup Show is in prime form... 7th is a straight par-4 of about 380 with narrowish fairway. She found the right half of fairway, with 138 left (per looper's laser) to far-right elevated flag, which she knocked down with ease. Na Rin An in next group ... didn't see drive, but it went longer ... don't know if it was hers. An's bag has a minor endorsement of 'Ma:nyo' ... what is that? Just became my 1st swing video of today at par-5 9th.

Par-5 2nd hole with a brook in front of green would be a challenge today for LPGAers as the blocks are at 482. I'm sure it'll be dumbed down once ot twice when real play starts. Recorded Yu Liu's drive which left her 228 to the middle, but her ball was not used ... hit from about 205. Pacing off shots around UMCC is not easy when there are scant few yardage markers outside the ropes. I looked closely down into the brook ... no turtles, no fish, no nothing but balls below and crap on the surface.

Correction on the yardage at #6 ... caddie said it was 175 to flag, so that makes JTibs' shot there earlier even better. Just saw Sophia Schubert try it ... either a mis-hit or a bailout to green-center, leaving a long birdie putt. Now for the bigger news: it looks like Schubert ash-canned Wilson Golf ... has Callaway bag and headcovers ... wasn't close enough to see if she had a Cally iron in her hands. I assume the Wilson ball is also history, but I was too far away to confirm.

I keep reading that everyone is expecting low scores this week... What do you see? Lots of birdies? The potential to dumb everything down?

I keep reading that everyone is expecting low scores this week... What do you see? Lots of birdies? The potential to dumb everything down? I'm not sure if there's a first cut of rough here ... all the rough looks the same height and is not terribly high ... I don't think it will stop the better players from scoring well. I don't see anyone hitting off hardpan (yet) ... the course is quite green as we've had one deluge per week since the end of March. As for specific hole yardages starting Thursday, I suggest you look at what's posted on the LPGA website, where you might see real or fake hints of dumbing down. ... and now for the big news: Lilia Vu has a new visor logo ... more on her later.

Break time ... sitting down next to putting contest gimmick across from practice green. Betsy King is in the pro-am as an am ... Cheyenne Knight w/ Cheesebuger Chad is her group's pro. King's playing PXG 0311 irons, that's Crazy Bob's very first model, right? Also, used a Cally Epic driver, hit it competently, although maybe not her best ... well, she's pushing 67 and lacked spring in her step. MMS is in the pro-am field, but haven't seen her. Last year, they had a lot of ex-pro athletes in the pro-am, but not today.

Sung Hung was on far right side of range next to picket fence, so I went over there ... no undersleeves, don't think I ever saw her do that before. Driver seemed to produce good shots, although she is quite deliberate between swings. Then I got the phone out to record one of her FW's and she drop-kicked it ... mental butterflies for sure.

Who is coaching The Old Ko these days? An Asian guy is recording her swings ... I don't think it's her daddy ... Tina is also here. J.Song is in the station next to Ko ... got their swings.

There doing a 9 & 9 pro-am ... each group gets one pro for nine holes and a different pro for the next nine. MA LeBlanc took over for Betsy King's group. I want to see LeBlanc bust her driver, but she sliced it at #7 ... she'll get another chance at #9. King has her own cart, but she seems to be in pain ... more of a hobble than a walk. Gina Kim hit it to 4 feet at the par-3 7th. It just occurred to me that I haven't seen any markings for ground under repair. Update - LeBlanc hit it to the 280 mark at #9 ... they measure drives here. She speaks French with her woman caddie and I think her coach was also with her, plus a couple of old relatives with French accents.

Last shuttle leaves at 7 pm, but I'm not cutting it that close. JTibs on the practice green, boy, that is a long day for her. Chella, BadA$$ and Stephenson also here ... can't see anyone on range from here. The U.S. Gangsta Yin is also here, probably talking s*** I assume with her looper, but she's too far away to hear. I'd trade her for Ruoning Yin ... quite a nifty swing.

Final notes on Wednesday -
* Lilia Vu's new visor said 'Kingston Fury'. I looked it up ... a company that makes memory chips for PCs and gaming. The 'S' that used to be on her visor was for Shady Canyon Golf Club ... her Vessel bag mentions Shady Cannon and not much else.
* At the par-5 12th (467 from the pro tee), I noticed Vu hitting a shot out of the left fairway fringe from 180. Is she really that long?! The answer is NO ... I later observed her hitting an extra drive per hole from the red tees. The red tee at #12 was 434. Btw, her Titleist has a blue Bruin claw on it.
* You know you've been out here too long when you recognize an amateur from a past Shoprite/Acer pro-am. At the par-3 8th, this lefty bent down to tee up his ball, then turned to one of the caddies and asked, "Is it okay to tee up a 3-wood?" After getting the affirmative answer, his first swing was a whiff that took out a turf divot.
