The Monday Qualifying Queen is going for a hat trick tomorrow ... in the last threesome with Arpichaya Yubol and Waitwait Zhang.
My goal is to be there for a couple of days ... aside from that, there's no news ... have they announced what old-timers will be invited?

On my way to this tournament now, so I have to post this before we find out who the Monday qualifiers are.
My field rating is a very solid 71%, way up from 63% last year. My breakdown is 78% from the LPGA Priority List and 64% from the Rolex Rankings Nine of the top ten players from this week's Rolex Rankings will be in attendance. Top players not teeing it up this week include; In Gee Chun Leona Maguire Hyo Joo Kim Danielle Kang Ayaka Furue Charley Hull Nanna Koerstz Madsen Marina Alex Hinako Shibuno Maja Stark
Other stuff: Hanna Green's Victory last week was the second for an Australian golfer this year, tying the USA with 2 wins apiece. With Green winning in a playoff, the last three LPGA tournaments have been decided that way (four of the last 5). Nelly Korda's top ten finish was her 6th this year. No other player has more than four.
There was some solid movement in the Rolex Rankings in the past 2 weeks since I last reported from LPGA players: Hannah Green made the most important move, leaping from 27-14. Other moves: Xi Yu Lin 16-13 Ruoning Yin 30-21 Hae Ran Ryu 53-45 Cheyenne Knight 60-45 Narin An 61-56 Gemma Dryburgh 63-57 Chella Choi 67-55 Aditi Ashok leaps from 90-64 Outside the top 100, Jaravee Boonchant vaults 198-143

Are there any founders left? It feels like their ranks have thinned out in the past few years.

GRANT: Georgia Hall withdrew from the International Crown late in the game. Says she was battling a foot injury.
TOM: Nice to see her walking fine there.

Sung Hyun is with Bailey Tardy & Chanettee Wannasaen. Break a leg everybody. You're the last hold-out .... I watched her drive at #14 and there wasn't one Attack Woman in sight.

Round 1 Great day for the Sisters. Pity that most of the ones who ended up on the leaderboard were not playing during the broadcast window, as they showed almost no Koreans on TV today (Inky did get a couple of looks when she was in the hunt, but she faded). Can't remember the last time Sei Young got out to a start like this. Nice 66, but can we expect her to keep it up? Hope so, she could use a good week. Hae Ran just a shot behind her, with Jin Young and Hye Jin a shot further back. Jin Young got to 2 under, made a double, then reeled off four straight birdies to finish at 4 under. Nice stat line: 15/18 GIR, 28 putts; I hope she's ready to make a run. Sisters hwaiting!

Yan Liu dropped out after shooting 83 ... from what I observed, she can put a mile of air under the ball, but has no idea where it's going ... and this is a player who was 9th(!) on the Epson Tour money list last year ... "The Road to the LPGA" is a two-way highway, but they never say that.

They have a pavilion that covers the back of the 17th green called The 1950s Club ... maybe it's related to UMCC, although the club was founded in 1901. Tickets were not sold for it, so who is it reserved for? It has two rows with about 45 seats per row and I counted about 12 people milling about up there on Thursday. Btw, the UMCC website says they'll have this tournament thru 2024. Who gets it after that? Will it exist after that?!

A different and quite nice look from Minjee yesterday as I watched her traverse the 9th fairway. It appears that LEXI(TM) is still gaming the ancient Cobra S2 Forged irons ... also, did not know she is affiliated with one of the Agent Orange courses. Angel Yin dislodged a fur pelt with her wedge into the 18 green and she and her looper did NOT replace it. However, that might be the correct protocol as this is no public dog track. I assume the grounds crew is scrambling around with divot fill during the off hours. I assume a loose divot is a loose impediment that you can move away from your ball, correct?

So Yeon Ryu had a chance for a nice round with two birdies no bogeys front nine. But had a one birdie, two bogeys and a triple bogey back nine. Still needs to improve her driving with an average of one forty four yards.
In Kyung Kim a veteran made a triple bogey her par five eighteen. There was no water hazard off the tee so an experienced golfer should not make that mistake.
Jeong Eun6 Lee is still struggling hitting only hit six fairways and eight greens. Her driving was two sixty off the tee, but hitting all over the course didn't help her. She is talented and young so she may figure it out.

Just notice that Korda One quit after a 72 yesterday ... what's her problem? Lindsay WW was in the same group, she also quit. I assume J. Chang didn't go out there as a single today.
********
JEL 6, what a mess ... Thursday pic below is from the par-5 2nd hole where she posed with one hand on the club on her finish ... luckily, her ball barely avoided the water in the left junk and she was able to chop it out. She goes out Friday at 1:54 PM ... her looper has a GB & I accent, so he can't possibly be at fault.
********
Great comeback by Yuna, who had a 78 yesterday, but is -5 thru 15 and now within the cut line.

You got #9 and #18 mixed up ... Inky's triple was at the par-5 9th, which has a pond on the far right ... not in play unless you really stink it up. Don't know what she did here as I never saw her yesterday. To me, this was the real AON hole yesterday, based upon the flag being in the front-left corner, where there is virtually no usable real estate behind, in front or left of that pin. When the wind picked up late in the PM, it boosted the drives at this hole, which made going for it in two a real possibility.
Don't expect any of these players to make a triple at the par-4 18th ... that hole is a joke. The only danger is not getting the ball deep enough into the green, which is elevated (same green elevation at #9).
Back in the old Sybase days, #9 and #18 were reversed on the scorecard.
