Round 4
Fantastic emotional win for Jin Young Ko! You can tell how much it meant to her; I don't think I've ever seen her cry like that following a victory.

It was a long hard road for her this past year, but with her wrist injury seemingly in remission, she gave everyone a reminder how relentless she can be when she sniffs a trophy. Today wasn't her best, although the front nine was vintage Jin Young, hitting every green and all but one fairway. It got a little close at times, but she hung tough and made a clutch birdie on 8 to maintain a slim edge.

The back nine was dicier; she had a couple of poor drives in there, put herself in trouble on 10, but made an uber-clutch par save on 10 to keep the lead, making a par-saving putt from off the green. Perhaps the hole of the tournament was the par 5 13th. She hit her drive a bit left and had a difficult stance near a bunker, requiring her to hit a dink shot to escape and leaving her a long third. She still put it within twenty feet on the green and nailed the birdie to move to three-up. Even an insane deluge that halted play for an hour didn't slow her down after that. All that was left was the final putt and the tears.
Hyo Joo nabbed the other Korean top ten, and Danielle Kang momentarily looked like she might upset the apple cart, ending up third. A Lim Kim had one of the low rounds of the day, a 66, and vaulted to 14th. Props to Hye Jin, Na Rin An and Eun Hee Ji for top 20s. In Gee had another solid but unremarkable event. She was T-24th, so she still is looking for her first top twenty of the year.
But it's all about the Woman in White. Jin Young ended the Korean drought at last, became the first player to defend at the HSBC, and only the second after Inbee to win this one twice. But best of all, the Best is back! Congrats to her and HWAITING!
