Minami Katsu answered a few questions at Ibaraki GC today ... will play the first three JLPGA events in March, followed immediately by the LPGA's Drive-On/Arizona ... not proficient in English, but her mom knows a little English and will travel with her ... plans to hire local looper(s). Hmmm, how about the guy just dumped by The Old Ko?

This is what I needed yesterday, someone to catch my UFOs (high pull hooks) ... it got up to 59F in NJ yesterday, so I came out of my hole to hit some 8-irons in the park.

Remember Yeseul Lee, the Asian scrub tour explorer from many years back? She's still around ... lists herself as an instructor and was on SBS Golf in 2022.
Currently on Okinawa ... maybe she'll try to squeeze her way into the Daikin Orchid event in March ... currently repping Srixon/Cleveland which is a plus.

Jumbo Ozaki conducted tryouts (sponsored by ISPS Handa) for his golf academy on Saturday. Per Google mush from the article above, he is still Erika Hara's guru and had some profound words about her:
Masashi Ozaki [76 = free], who has won 94 tours in men's golf, ordered Erika Hara to "be the leading role in golf this year."
23-year-old Hara ranked 31st in the Mercedes ranking last season. He went winless. Hara's determination was revealed, "I suffered so much last year. "If you don't make a large flower bloom by the age of 25, it will be a little difficult later. I also intend to do that." It seems that the master and disciple are positioned as the year of the game.
When asked what part of Hara had improved, she joked, "Face," and then she said with a serious face. "Besides playing golf, she's always the main character. I want her to be the main character in golf."

Min Young Lee is no warm weather wimp ... location unknown, but I think I hear Japanese spoken in the background, so I'm guessing Japan. The landscape looks like one I've seen at a regular JLPGA tour stop, but I don't have time to look it up. |
