The Blue Dragon awards were last night; this is one of the two main Film award shows in Korea. For the first time, a non-Korean won an acting award when Tang Wei picked up Best Actress for her role in the Park Chan-Wook film Decision to Leave. She was awarded the prize by Korean film legend Moon So Ri, then proceeded to give part of her speech in Chinese, English and even Korean. The film swept the big awards, also garnering Best Actor, Best Film and Best Director as well. The film had won Park Chan-Wook the Best Director award at Cannes earlier this year. Earlier, Moon gave a touching speech where she memorialized her stylist, who was one of the victims at the Halloween Itaewon stampede.

The entire broadcast is here if you are interested.
P.S. another big Korean film award, the Grand Bell, will be happening December 9th. Tang Wei is up for an award there, too.
