This new event features one of the biggest purses on the KLPGA tour. The winner will receive 300 million won, and the total purse is 1.2 billion won.  In Gee Chun will be in the field, fresh off her triumph at the US Women's Open. She hasn't been able to back up a win with another win yet this season, and you gotta think she'll be pretty spent after all that happened in Pennsylvania, but I expect a rock star reception for her. Four days of fun starts this Thursday! |

I'm going to bed (have a long day tomorrow) and won't be able to put a full report up today. So far, the clubhouse leaders are at 4 under, Chae Young Yoon and Sung Woon Lee among them. Ha Neul Kim shot a 74. Shi Hyun Ahn 69, Yoon Kyung Heo 70. In Gee is playing with Jung Min Lee and Jin Young Ko. Ko is -1 through 13, Lee even, Chun 1 over. Hee Kyung Seo is 1 under with a few holes to play. Kangsy shot a 70. Round 2: Park and Bae tied atop leaderboard
In round 2, Korean Women's Open winner Sung Hyun Park shot a 66 to move to 8 under and a tie for the lead. Also at 8 under after a 67 is top ten player Seon Woo Bae, who is still looking for her breakthrough win. In Gee Chun rallied on day two, shooting a 69 in the morning to move to t-23rd. The press has been talking about how tired she looks, and indeed her usual pep is not quite present yet. But she certainly more than earned her sponsorship bucks last week, didn't she?  Jung Min Lee did not do so well, missing the cut after a 75. Another interesting name on the leaderboard is Je Yoon Yang. The former Player of the Year has struggled mightily the past few years, but she has produced back to back 69s to start her week. In Gee got off to a great start, but was unable to keep it going.
I am sure she were really tired after all she has been through.
Good to see Hee Kyung Seo have a couple of decent rounds.
Jung Min Lee struggled a little towards the end of the first round.
I guess it carried over to the second round.

Yes, they're at the Sky 72 club next to Incheon Airport...the same course will host the HanaBank in October. It's too bad Bert from Arkansas is no longer on this board...he liked Ji Na Lim and she is only one shot back at -7...she hasn't won in years.  mr3putt: As a contingency, I have a back-up Ahn (Song Yi), who is -4, T-14.   Yeah, she's nice to look at and plays well, but she also seems to have a demonstrable coolness about her in her pictures...the one below (a chip-in earlier this year) really got me.  |

Round 3: Seon Woo Bae Poised for First Win
Seon Woo Bae, who has hovered around getting her first KLPGA win this season, shot a 3 under par 69 to move to 11 under and a one shot lead over Min Sun Kim. Kim is trying for her second win of 2015.  Tied for third are three strong players: Yoon Kyung Heo, Yoon Ji Cho and Min Young Lee. None has managed a win yet in 2015.  In Gee Chun was hit with massive fatigue this day. She shot a listless 4 over par 76 and sunk to nearly the bottom of the leaderboard. In Gee withdrew from the tournament today.
I guess the USWO was hard on her and Jung Min Lee.
Anyway if any of the three at the top of the leader board wins.
Is fine with me.
Although I kind of want Yoon Kyung Heo to win.
Min Sun5 Kim reminds me of Sei Young.
She hit long drives, but can sometimes be erratic.
The rest of her game is solid.
I just like Seon Woo Bae glasses.

Many of the Asian pros travel too much flying across the Pacific.....unfortunately it catches up.
Why do some players have a number besides their names?
Unfortunately, I can only recognize maybe 10 of the popular KLPGA & JLPGA pros...I wish I could put more names to a face.
