... aka Women's World Amateur Team Championship ...it runs Aug. 24-27 on two different golf courses near Paris. The U.S. (Vu, Kupcho, Gillman) won the last one in 2018 ... pandemic cancelled the 2020 event.
They play four rounds and the two best medal scores from each team are counted. The U.S. (The Zhangster, Heck and Kuehn) should be favored ..., Round One is not finished, but they are in first at -5. ROK (Shinshil Bang, Jiyoo Lim and Min Byeol Kim) just started and are all over par. Baba the Giant had the worst score for Team Japan today. Good luck to Guatemala, which will be teeing off soon with two Korean ringers imports, Hani Lee and Jasmine Youn Shin.

None of the usual sources are posting any photos ... they'll probably wait until Day Four.
Ingrid Lindbland is -7 thru 16 on Day Two, which put Team Sweden in first place ... probably just temporarily as Team USA has just started. Min Byeol Kim (-4 thru 17) woke up, so ROK is back in the team competition. Jasmine Youn Shin of Guatemala looks like a player (72 on Wednesday, -2 thru 13 on Thursday) ... teammate Hani Lee does not (86 on Wednesday, +8 thru 13 on Thursday). Baba the Giant is -1 thru four holes on Thursday, but still not playing as well as her teammates.

This is turning out to be a TOUGH event for Team USA ... early in Round Three, they are at -9, trailing Sweden and Germany by one shot. Germany?! I looked up one of the Germans, Alexandra Forsterling, a name I had seen before ... she just finished her senior year at AZ State.
Baba the Giant on Thursday.

Good article above on what happened ... USA had it going into the last hole, but The Zhangster made bogey, dropping them into a tie with Sweden ... in this case, the non-counting scores are counted and The Swedes won that by one stroke (thanks to Kuehn doubling the last hole).

**********
A forgettable week for ROK (T-9) -
Min Byeol Kim -1 Jiyoo Lim +3 Shinsil Bang +11
