Lots of stars in attendance. Should be fun!

My field rating for this event is a solid, but very disappointing for a CP Women's Open, 65%. This tournament was last played in 2019 and had a field rating of 78%, which was much more normal for this event. My breakdown is 73% from the LPGA Priority List and 57% from the Rolex Rankings. The good news is that 9 of the top 10 players in the world will be teeing it up, but it does fall sharply after that.
Players skipping the event this week include: Patty Tavatanakit Inbee Park Leona Maguire Hyo Joo Kim Anna Nordqvist Mina Harigae Georgia Hall Austin Ernst Ryann O'Toole Jenny Shin Eun-Hee Ji Chella Choi Marina Alex Angela Stanford In Kyung Kim Pernilla Lindberg Hee Young Park Hinako Shibuno Maja Stark
Other notes: With Maja Stark's win last week, we now have winners from 11 different countries this year. Stark was also the first non-LPGA winner this year. She has now has accepted membership and was added to the LPGA Priority List. We have now had 3 consecutive first time winners as Stark was preceded by Ayaka Furue and Ashleigh Buhai.
In the All important Race to the CME Globe we had some major changes (Finishing in the top 100 is vital to play next year). Maja Stark came flying on at #49. Linn Grant secured her spot with a jump from 92 to 68. Emily Pederson Jumped from 102-76. Peiyun Chien 103-78.
In the Rolex Rankings: Maja Stark 67 to 45 So Young Lee 120 to 92 Allisen Corpuz 134 to 94
Jung Min Hong, A Yeon Cho, Amy Olson, and Sophia Popov all dropped out of the top 100

Caddie list (version 2) is out ... big shocker, did Casper Altomare really dump Audrey Gerdes? Isn't $330K this year good enough? She's going with Steven Stanislawzyk (don't know him) ... meanwhile, Audrey landed on her feet (sort of) with Emma Talley, who went 0-for-Europe. MHL gets William Lister (don't know him). Olson skipped this one, so Taneka will be on Papp's bag. Kylie Pratt on the move again ... new employer is MJ Uribe. J. Song has a name I've never seen before, Ben Chau ... her prior loop was John Langhoff ... I didn't know him, but Getty Images has a pic of a golfer with that name on the MacKenzie Tour in 2019.

There's a good 'Gunsmoke' on now ... I'll switch over to the golf when its over.
******
A lot of strange names on the leaderboard are BELOW par ... Count the Money Chun (+6 thru 16) is NOT one of them.

The New Ko during Wednesday's pro am:
I'm guessing this is a Bridgestone 221CB iron, which is on Bridgestone's Japan site, but not on the U.S. site.
I assume that is manager girl in yellow.
********
I'm glad MHL got grouped with two experienced pros, Min Lee and Ruixin Liu ... eliminates an excuse.
*********
Whoops, Major League Minjee quit ... I didn't hear what happened.

Good morning rounds for the Sisters. A Lim Kim had six birdies, what's also great is that she only had one bogey.
Sung Hyun Park had four birdies her front nine. Stumbled a little starting the back nine with two bogeys, came back with birdies on seventeen and eighteen.
Jeongeun Lee5 had a good round of four birdies one bogey.
Good come back for In Gee Chun, bogeys on one and two, after that six birdies one bogey.
Great to see Jeongeun Lee6 after three bogeys front nine come back with four birdies no bogeys back. Maybe that's a confidence booster for her.
So Yeon had three birdies two bogeys. Her putting let her down, missed only three greens but had thirty two putts.

After 10 holes MHL only two shots behind Throbbin' Robynn for Low Sister.
*******
I gotta throw in with HF ... Jeeno Jat will not be caught for the ROY award ... I don't care how close Cyborg is, JJ has a relentless fire that can't be put out ... just look at the scores today.
********
Southpaw Canuck Megan Osland ... I think that's the first hockey glove headcover I've ever seen.

Great round by Na Rin An clean Score Card with seven birdies.
Hye Jin Choi bounced back with four birdies back nine after one bogey no birdies front nine.
Jin Young Ko had an ok round with five birdies two bogeys.
Mi Hyang Lee had a good front nine with four birdies no bogeys. She kind of lost her momentum back nine with one bogey no birdies.

It's a gigantic bore when the LPGA wastes so much time in Europe. Canada lets you avoid Vietnam and breaking an arm is free.

Nothing personal against Paula Reto (62, -9), but I fully expect her to fold up like a $3 suitcase ... unless she proves otherwise, it's a virtual certainty. I followed her at the Seaview when she opened with a 64 (-7) in 2016 ... a long and strong player ... naturally, she followed with a 75 the next day.

As an experienced Muni (74, +3) follower on several golf courses, well, I hate to say it ... she stinks this year. Her stats are pretty much dreadful across the board.

Round 1 In Gee looked good during the coverage; she got her terrible stuff mostly out of the way before the broadcast started. Decent start for Jin Young, Hye Jin, and Amy Yang; you don't have to shoot 10 under in the first round, just stay within hailing distance. Na Rin had a fantastic 64. If she can keep this up for one more round, I'll start to believe she might steal a win. Speaking of believing, Yealimi followed a week where she was getting owned by golfers outside the top 1000 with a decent 67. It sounds like her putting is super shaky, though, so we'll have to see what happens tomorrow. Sisters hwaiting!

Another clean round by Na Rin An six birdies no bogeys.
Hye-Jin Choi also had a great round with four birdies and two Eagles.
A Lim Kim had an pedestrian round with four birdies two bogeys.
So Yeon Ryu made bogey first hole and made four birdies after that. Still has the par five eighteen to play.
Another tough day at the Office for Jin Young Ko. She had two birdies front nine but four bogeys back nine. Two of the bogeys were on par fives, hit only seven greens. I guess her highlight or low light for being in them were four of four sand saves. Looks like a missed cut. Jeongeun Lee6 needs to birdies her last two holes to make the cut. Likewise Sung Hyun Park, plus four for the day needs birdies on two of last four holes. Another note I read that Sung Hyun last top ten was August 2019.
