It runs August 8 thru 14 at Chamber's Bay ... to borrow a 2015 phrase from Rory M., are they still putting on broccoli over there? A few big names are skipping it, most notably The Zhangster, but there are still a lot of familiar faces to me in this one, including Heck, Kajitani, Migliaccio, Castle, Amari, Ganne and Kuehn. My overachiever pick is Cannuck Brooke Rivers, who looked overage at KJ Choi's 2019 junior event at Fiddler's Elbow and had plenty of power to burn. Only one ROK flag in the field - Bohyun Park, a Texas import. BTW, Jiyoo Lim is 7th on WAGR and is not here ... was low am with a T-7 at the KWO ... did the KGA cheap out and not help her get into this one?
Another familiar face is Kelly Sim (rear position), who just finished her 4th year at Northwestern ... don't know if she has any additional golf eligibility there, courtesy of The Bug.

Is there a link to the leaderboard?
Isn't Rose the low amateur right now at this weekends LPGA tour event?
I remember Chambers Bay as being controversial but I don't remember why.

Correction: Stenson said "broccoli" ... McIlroy said "cauliflower".
The USGA website will have the scoreboard:

The pros complained about the greens at the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay. They were extremely bumpy. Since then the greens have all been replaced with new turf grass.

I heard Elkington say the fairways looked like an omelet, too.

Amari is this week's USGA pet ... not that there's anything wrong with that.
The USGA website has a nice video feature on The Yale Librarian, who I've seen play at four events.

"Nothing wrong with that." 👍🏻 Completely agree. I'm curious how much her skin color attracts the media attention. She doesn't have any clear claim to fame on her resume, does she?

She is tailor-made for the pathetically weak and predictably woke GIC.
Now listen to The Expert: She's a serious baller who will make people forget about Cheyenne Woods and Mo Stacks ... watched her as a grip-it-and-rip-it 14-year-old at Echo Lake (even though she launched a few UFOs) ... saw her reach a tough par-5 in two last year at Mountain Ridge while the pros playing with her couldn't do that. Finished her first year at USC with three wins and a scoring average of 71.64, two-plus strokes better than everyone else on her team.

Alice Ziyi Zhao can no longer hide. You're name is Alice and every kid from 12 to 17 wants your monogram.

They ran out of daylight to complete Tuesday's 8-for-4 playoff ... will continue Wed. AM.
*******
The ancient career ams were given their walking papers ... Ellen Port, Martha Leach and Ina Kim-Schaad.
********
A good day for NJ golf as Ganne, The Yale Librarian, Katie Li and Leigha Devine (Rutgers) made the Round of 64 ... Kelly Sim missed it by one stroke.
Broooke Rivers (77-77), my overachiever pick, was no Brooke Two. Other bomb-outs of note include Ty Akabane (UCLA), Yana Wilson (US Girls champ) and Migliaccio (Golf Channel).
********
Team Japan went 4-for-4 and Team Philippines went 0-for-3.

Got first measurable rainfall in weeks this morning. Accompanying that were thunderclaps in the distance hence the cause of the delays of this tournament.

I turned on the Wed. broadcast ... the repaired greens look so much better compared to the 2015 fiasco. Hardly any spectators, looks like brutal walk in the wilderness ... little buzz and nothing like the USWA events I attended in the surburbs of Philly and NYC. At least there is no infrastructure to ruin the views.
Amari dropped the 1st hole ... I assume we'll see some of her later. The Yale Librarian is one-up after two holes against a tough player in Seay. Kajitani is going out in the final match in four minutes.
From Monday ... this is actually a conservative look for Ina Kim-Schaad.
