This one is taking place in NE ROK about 25 km west of the east coast...kicks off Friday. Isn't this the area where they were shooting for the Winter Olympics? Did they get it? The field of 132 includes JLPGAers Ha Neul Kim and Hee Kyeong Bae.  |

SBS Golf has been promoting this as "Super Week" since in addition to this event they apparently also hold the Korean rights to the US Women's Open, which they'll be televising live.

Yes.....PyeongChang was awarded the 2018 Olympics and the golf resort is nearby. I heard Kim Jong Un is dieting and training to win all the Nordic gold medals to add to his 17 hole in one's. |

Just a quick recap today. Hye Youn Kim has the lead at 6 under. Some Scores: 1. Hye Youn Kim 66 -6 2. Jung Hwa Lee 2, Jin Young Ko 67 -5 15. Gyeol Park (R) 70, Shin Hyun Ahn 70 -2 25. Shin Ae Ahn 71 -1 35. Ha Neul Kim 72 Even 95. Yoon Kyung Heo 76 +4 Round 1 Ha Neul Kim - her skirt seems like a nod towards the US Women's Open?   Wait - Yoon Kyung Heo dropped out of the Open and is playing in Korea? Guess she wasn't injured like we had heard after all. Or maybe she got better once she got back to Korea?  . Maybe Yoon Kyung was worried that the high rough would be too hard on her knee.
That and the soft fairways and long holes will force her to hit too many rescue clubs.
If so long term that may be a good decision.

Again, I won't be able to put the end result up. But, so far, with about 6 holes left to play: Jin Young Ko sits at 13 under, Hye Jung Lee 11 under, and rookie Ye Jin Kim 10 under.
