There's nothing else to watch until the Men's Olympic GOLF replay comes on at 5 PM.
Somebody on GolfWrx said Annika is still the greatest NOW and the LPGA tour needs her NOW. Dude, towel off!!! I needed to see her full driver swing only once to see she has a shorter backswing and shorter follow-through ... and sometimes a little off-balance. Just making cuts would be a monumental challenge on the LPGA for her these days. It's not her fault, she's 50!!!! Meanwhile, she is crushing this bunch. I could see her winning this the next 3-4 years ... really, who else will be coming on line in the next few years to make her sweat? I assume it would be someone who will play the game, non-stop, maniacally, until they hit 50 ... Crusty Grrr and Queen Shiho come to mind, but that's a ways off for them. Yuri Fudoh has another five years to wait. Pak has another five years, but doesn't compete at all anymore, right? Stupples hits 50 in a couple of years ... she could win if she starts working on her game like crazy now. I remember her at Hamilton Farm, she was a serious baller from tee-to-green, but putted like crap. Is Il Mi Chung still winning trophies on Korea's geezer tour? She turns 50 next year ... she was really good on the LPGA for about three years.
UPDATE: Whoops, I forgot about Karrie in five years ... what a gifted swing she has ... or is it had? Does she play anymore?
At 56, Kris Tschetter looks well-preserved these days. She was on her way out when I saw her at Upper Montclair CC twelve years ago. Check out this pic from 2003, and how about that iron?! She wrote a book about being friends with Ben Hogan.
