This one starts Friday for a field of 120 ... top-60 plus ties make the cut. The TV Tokyo sports YouTube channel will start carrying it Saturday afternoon ... how many suckers outside of Japan will try to click on it? This will definitely work for Sunday's round (Japan time) -
4:00 - 5:15 PM

Congrats to Karis Davidson and one of my favorite swings, who has been trying to break into prison since at least late April and finally succeeded this week.

Thursday prep -
Momoko Ueda announced she got married on her birthday (June 15) ... the Google mush is unclear - she has a ring/band, but maybe it's too big to wear for golf?
Karis Davidson and Serena Aoki
Kana Nagai
Teresa Lu and Sakura Koiwai
Asako Fujimoto ... notice her daily stamp of approval

Mika Miyazato was a DNS (right big toe pain). Chae Young Yoon (poor physical condition) and Min Young Lee (left hip joint) were WDs after first round ... that will make it harder to break the 7-month ROK winless streak.

It appears that Solar did not abandon Japan forever, because she is playing in the minor minor leagues this week. The Shizuoka Shimbun & SBS Ladies (Jun 18-20) is showing LIVE action here (click red box):
I think it will run thru 5 PM (Japan time). Sunday's round is 8 AM thru 3 PM.
They're showing the 1st hole for now (and it's raining). Solar will tee off at #1 in five minutes (7:50 PM EST). She opened with 73 (+1) in Round One.

They're still showing the first hole but I tuned in too late for Solar. No fans, but it looks like a Jumbotron is set up next to the first green showing a Zoom feed filled with fans. They're watching from home, holding signs & giving thumbs up. Who do I call to get on this screen in time for Solar's tee time tomorrow?! I've already started working on my "GO SOLAR POWER!" sign.

Push this stuff through Google mush and see if you can do it:
Round Three starts Sunday at 8 AM (Japan time), but the first tee times are not until 8:30 AM. Solar (Even) trails by nine shots and begins at 9:20 AM.
Solar will be in the same threesome as Asami Kikuchi (Erika's washout sister)

I checked that link. Unfortunately... The recruitment for remote gallery participation has ended.Probably just as well. The application process looks more complicated than my mortgage refi. In the photo, that doesn't look like a Fair Liar outfit. Has Solar lost her main sponsorship already?

Yui Kawamoto another sixty nine tied for fourth place. She is only two out of the Lead, a good chance to get the win.
Kotone Hori rebounded with a sixty eight, after the first round seventy four. A good day for my two favorites.

Get ready, people, Solar tees off in about four minutes.
Hana Lee teed off not long ago ... tops the minor minor leagues in money, scoring avg., and top-10s for 2020-21.
UPDATE: Solar made par on the par-4 1st hole (384 yards) ... and she is still with Fair Liar.
Again, this is the low minor leagues and the course is set at 6,516 yards ... they don't care about your feelings.

I had to tune in late and missed Solar again.
But these announcers sound like they're having a party in the booth...two guys and a gal. Laughing, over-reactions to the golf shots and general rowdyness. There may be alcohol involved.

Kotone Hori got to minus seven through seventeen, six birdies one bogey. She needed to make birdie on eighteen to be tied for the lead right now. Instead she made bogey and are now tied for ninth place.
Yui Kawamoto aren't doing too good with plus one today so far. I was hoping that she would make a run for the win, but not to be.
I am probably going to watch the KLPGA stream one more time for about thirty minutes.

Well, that was a letdown. I really wanted MJ Jeon to put the hammer down ... you don't get many chances like this when you're pushing 39. Unfortunately, her birdie putt for the win at the par-5 18th did a 270 around the cup. She and JY Shin birdied #18 three times in the playoff, but Jeon missed a short L-R breaker for birdie the 4th time around and that was that. More pics later.

A Sunday gag by the kid Hikari Tanabe (+1) dropped her to T-56
Sayaka Takahashi
Rie Tsuji (-1)
the broadcast opened with Mone Inami (-1) and Akaya Furue (E) playing the 18th hole and the word "Olympics" mentioned many times by the announcers.

A nice top ten for Kotone Hori, she is getting better.
I was hoping that Yui Kawamoto would contend for the win. Still she is that good for me.
