This is slated for May 27 thru May 29 (Saturday finish). It was announced months ago, but I still can't find any hints online as to where it will take place. The LET website only says "New York" as the city location. If it really takes place within the city limits, that greatly limits where it will be. FYI, a course associated with Agent Orange is within the city limits.
A field of 108 is posted, but it includes 17 blank entries. The LPGA is playing a match play event in Vegas on May 26-30, which would leave a lot of players with nothing to do ... I can think of one who will definitely play in NYC, Laura Davies.
Regarding the "team" angle, here are the details in the various news reports:
Teams of four will compete in the tournaments, each one played over 54 holes. Captains will recruit one fellow Tour pro through a draft system similar to the NFL and NBA. Another Tour professional will be selected at random, while all teams will include one amateur player. Prize money for the winning team will be split between its three pro members.
Therefore, I assume the total field will be 144 ... 36 teams with three pros and one amateur. That's a lot of amateurs. How good will they be? Where will they come from? That's a lot people turtling around a golf course for three days and what if there is weather delay? If it's really a field of 108 (27 teams of three pros and one amateur), then the LET will have to cut some pros off the field they currently have posted. All I can do is guess and speculate, as the LET website has nothing concrete.
There are four of these types of tournaments ... the other three will be in London (July), Singapore (October) and Jeddah (November).

I cannot imagine it being Ferry Point GC. Perhaps Liberty National which is not technically NYC but is effectively the most NYC-experience golf course anywhere.
If they do it at one of the munis I'll attend for sure. Marine Park would be an interesting choice actually. It is challenging.

Yes, Liberty National GC looks like an obvious candidate ... I've never been there, but it looks like a corporate set-up all the way ... overlooking Manhattan to the east and a short limo drive to Newark Airport in the opposite direction. Per Google Maps at the street level, the entrance is gated for both lanes with a guard house in between. They've had many tournaments there, including the Polo Junior Classic since 2019, so why not add the LET, too?

Update on this, according to the LET website the tournament has been moved to a Date to be Confirmed and is not happening next month and is scheduled for late October, in its place the Italian Ladies Open will be played. I somehow think this event is not gonna happen in the end - The Saudi Sports Washing Machine may have hit a hurdle.

It's funny how the LET hastily stuck this event in between two tournaments being played in consecutive weeks. Maybe they'll cancel one of the October tournaments and use this one as the replacement. I find it hard to believe that the Saudis will give away the spotlight in NYC so easily, and of course they have the $$$ to make it happen. Although the LPGA is playing every week in October, most of that is in Asia, so I assume they could get a few of those players who don't go offshore.

Ah ha!!! The Expert called it! Some guy in Laundromat City pulled out his checkbook and presto, the Big Apple is back on the sked for Oct. 14-16 (venue TBD). This will be after two straight weeks of the LPGA being in NJ. Meanwhile, the Kenya event previously scheduled for mid-October has turned into a TBC and the Singapore stop for the Aramco series in October has been dropped.
I don't know how this "Team" nonsense will work. We'll find out when the first stage begins at Centurion Club in England, July 8-10. Anna Nordqvist is in the fields for all three locations (UK, US and KSA).

Aramco Series - Singapore has moved to Sotogrande, Spain same week as the Women's Golf Olympics..
They must have literally added Spain within the last few hours, because I did a word search on the LET sked for "Aramco" and didn't see it last night! No way is Anna Nordqvist is skipping the Olympics for this, so who will be her team's understudy? LEXI will also play in the UK ... I guess having a ringer on your team is okay.
They also added this article further clarifying the format:
I was wondering how they would they would get 36 amateurs for each of these locations. Answer: social media ... just submit comments and a swing video, details here:

P.U., whose idea was it to put this on Long Island? It's not as far as Sebonack, but getting to Glen Oaks Club will still be a pain in the azz. The Westbury train station is two miles south of the club ... if there is no shuttle, ugh. The thought of driving to this place is too painful to contemplate. At least the tickets are free ... except that you must reserve them online by submitting your name, address, e-mail and phone number into the Sportswasher Database. I need to study all the angles on this one before making a decision.

The sports washers have reeled in Korda 1 & 2, LEXI(TM) and Salas ... seven openings remain for this field of 84 pros (plus 28 amateurs). I'll be stunned if Muni or Spirinac don't make it.

I doubt it will be soon but someday wokeness will come for golf, and there will be so much to answer for.
