Hmmmm....it figures this article would originate from Sista friendly Canada and not from the racism and xenophobia against the Koreans/other nations from Merica....lol.
Lorne Rubenstein is a noted and well respected journalist, author and an accomplished golfer too.
He also thought Ryu's English was perfect....I wonder if Bivens will ever read this article.....lol.
But the Sista friendly attitude north of the border doesn't stop with this article.
In Sept 2012 I played in a golf tournament.
A guy and his 4some also joined our table for dinner.
This guy had on a 2012 CN CWO hat...so I started a conversation about the event.
He goes on a rant about how The Pink One acted like a stuck up b*tch (hmmmm....I guess there were no camera around) to his daughter and the other kids in some jr. event at the CWO.
He played in the Wednesday pro-am. On Tuesday evening his group is picked very late in the pro-am draw....there weren't many pros to chose from.
Ryu who is playing very early in the morning was still available...so they pick SYR not knowing very much about her.
He couldn't stop raving about SYR and how she was such a great pro to have at the pro-am and would select or recommend her to anyone.
I don't believe his company is a premier sponsor so he won't be able to choose SYR if she was available this year.
As defending CWO champ, Ryu will be plucked out, along with some of the premier pros, from the pro-am draw to play with CP exec's and some of CP's most notable customers.
FYI SYR didn't make the cut last time in Van City...it was her only missed cut in 2012...and a shock considering SYR finished no worse that 8th after her win in Toledo till the end of the season.
Obviously this was an aberration....I certainly don't expect the same result.....SYR along with the other Asians will have a lot of fanboys/girls here in Van City to cheer them on for the title.

Ai ranks up there with her, for being one of the nicest people on tour. That's why I am pulling for her game to improve.

I guess I cursed her, but I didn't hurt Lydia, because I also followed her and she ended up winning!

Ai Chan is a doll. You can't believe how happy I was along with the other fans as Ai Chan took down Kerr at the 2010 Safeway coming home. |

I guess I cursed her, but I didn't hurt Lydia, because I also followed her and she ended up winning! Up until 2010 with Ji Ya for a few holes and in 2013 and I watched HYP for 5 holes....I had previously never followed a Sista for several holes. Although I generally start off with a plan at the beginning of the day....I find I wander the course and randomly watch....must be my ADD. Ohsorry......I watched NYC in 2013 because a guy who was a NYC fanboy wanted to.....so I followed because it was his turn to buy the beers at the next concession....lol. I'll definitely will watch SYR in August.....HYP is a given. |
