Round 2 This is setting up to be a pretty interesting week! Jin Young and Inbee both did their superstar thing today and silently crept into contention. Namdalla is finally having a solid week, and In Gee and MJ are both still in it, just 5 back. Even So Yeon and Lee 6 are not entirely out of it, although it might be a bit tough for them to be big factors. Then there's Yealimi Noh, who suddenly shot up the leaderboard into a tie for 1st. She's a major X-Factor here; can she get the win she seems to have been poised to get for some time? She's talented but runs hot and cold; it will be fun to see which Noh shows up tomorrow! Should be a lot of fun! Sisters hwaiting!!

Great rounds by So Yeon Ryu -6 and Jeongeun Lee6 -5. So Yeon Round could have been two or three strokes lower. She had makeable birdie putts on the last four holes. Couple of them around six or seven feet, but they had subtle breaks. Could have been first place out right, but tied for first great after her start.
Jin Young Ko minus three is still close to the top.
Jeongeun Lee climbed to within a couple of shots of the top ten.
Not a good day for In Gee Chun and Sung Hyun Park.

No movement on Moving Day for KT. Still just 3 shots from the lead. She plays tomorrow with my avatar, Hot 6!

Ugh, that double-bogey on the last sure left a bad taste in the mouth. Noh is still in the final group though with some mighty fine company.

Round 3 This event is getting more and more exciting. This might have been my favorite moving day of the entire year. First of all, you had Six lighting it up! 5 under par 66, to move her into t-13th, three back. She is certainly still in this, but even if she doesn't win, a top five would go a long way into getting her into the CME and psyching her up for her title defense. So Yeon was even better, shooting a 6 under to rocket from nowhere to a tie for the lead. I can't tell you how much fun it was to see her clicking on all cylinders like that! Inbee and Jin Young were not as strong. Inbee in particular seemed to make a few surprising bad shots. But Inbee still put herself into the final group with her bestie So Yeon, and a tie for the lead. Ko is just a shot back with the pressure off. Let's see some great stuff from these superstars tomorrow! On top of all that, you have Yealimi Noh tied for the lead. Despite her final hole screw up, she has a golden chance tomorrow. But can she outplay three top ten stars and get her first win? That's the big X-Factor. The only bummer was a bad day from In Gee, but she has done some good things this week, so hopefully she can bounce back tomorrow and get psyched for the Open. Sisters hwaiting!!!!

Rooting for the masked golfer today. She probably doesn't realize the significance but wearing one of those, deep in the heart of the southern United States, seems downright subversive.

The full length down jacket on the golf course is such a power move.

Great Tournament by So Yeon Ryu. Another clean scorecard, except that she didn't have many birdie chances. At least she made birdie on the last hole to tie second place. That was after the just missed birdie on seventeen, that happens to her a lot.
Not a whole lot you can do when a person get hot, except tip your hat and move on.
Kudos: To Inbee Park and Yealimi Noh for second place ties as well.
Jin Young had the unlikely double bogey on fourteen. Still a nice solo fifth place and she is primed for a great finish, at the Women Open.

Round 4 Well, that was pretty much the last result I wanted to see when so many of my faves are in the hunt with great chances to win. Whatcha gonna do, there are always a couple of these every year. Congrats to hometown girl Stanford. I'm pretty much felt like this would be the result about 30 minutes in. You watch enough of these, you get pretty good at predicting the outcomes. On the plus side, four of the top five were Sisters! Jin Young was consistent all week, but that unfortunately meant she couldn't pull out the low round when she needed it. Inbee just didn't have her A Game. She was putting fine, but not giving herself enough legit birdie chances. So Yeon got into a birdie funk and it seemed nothing on Earth was going to cause that fricking ball to drop. Lee 6 had a chance at the start, too, but almost immediately put herself in the hole. She still managed a decent 16th. Lastly, give credit to Yealimi Noh. She was about the only Sister during the broadcast window who was doing anything. But she just didn't have it in her (yet) to take it to the next level and seriously challenge. T2 is still great. Bummer that In Gee had such a crappy weekend, it sends her into Houston on a sour note. But otherwise, I'm feeling pretty good about the way these ladies are getting it done. Good luck next week, Sisters, when it counts the most. Hwaiting!

Yealimi Noh held her own under intense spotlight for two days! She's broken into Rolex Top-50 and taken over the lead for most birdies in 2020.

According to the scoreboard, the CME points are as follows:
In like Flynn: Inbee Park 2 Yealimi Noh 13 Hee Young Park 28 Mirim Lee 30 So Yeon Ryu 31 In Gee Chun 42 Mi Hyang Lee 57 Amy Yang 65
Still not in Eun Hee Ji 83 Chella Choi 84 MJ Hur 86 Sung Hyun Park 90 Lee 5 92 Lee 6 103 Jin Young Ko 105
They are giving the two sponsor exempts next week, before the US Open results. Do they give one to Ko? I think she will still earn enough at the Open to make it without an invite. But I sure don't want them to play this without the #1.
