The limp first half of the JLPGA's 2020-21 season comes to a close this week with temperate climes at Miyazaki CC ... highs ranging from 61F to 68F Thursday thru Sunday, per Accuweather.com. Using various criteria, a field of 37 will show up. Hat tip goes to gear queen Saiki Fujita, who turned 35 on Sunday and got into this event for the first time since 2014.
I think the last two rounds are on NTV (Japan time) -
Sat. 1:30 - 2:25 PM (Live)
Sun. 3:00 - 4:25 PM (Tape)
********
There will also be LIVE broadcasts every day (Japan time) -
Thu & Fri - 8:30 AM Sat & Sun - 8 AM
One of the channels carrying the live stuff is HULU. I have no idea how to use HULU for this. As of now, there's no special link or button to click on at the event website for HULU. YouTube worked last year ... try this search:

Sakura Koiwai was diverted Monday to nearby Tom Watson GC in Miyazaki to tape a silly season TV match involving Ryo Ishikawa .... will be broadcast on TBS on 12/27, 4 PM (Japan time).
Upon further investigation, Ryo and Saku-chan made up one of three man/woman teams.
The other two teams included JLPGAers Ritsuko Ryu and Asuka Kashiwabara

phil: the match with koiwai and ishikawa is the kyocera phoenix challenge held every year around this time.... ritsuko ryu is always one of the players since she has sponser with kyocera... in years past they usually had at least one player from the pga; one year it was koepka and also hideki matsuyama...
there is probably at least four shows now since it started back when... its a difficult show to find online. they only play 4 or 5 holes... would love to have the link if you have it...

Shibuno Fever was asked to write one Kanji character that would describe her 2020 season ...

With a field of 37, Yui teed off alone at #1, a par four of 370 yards. She pushed it into the right rough ... I think Mr. Shimuzu is on her bag. Shibuno and Tanaka are next ... live video below is working perfectly:

The YouTube Police is now slamming the lid on genuine LIVE broadcasts, but they might be permitting broadcasts delayed by xx number of minutes.
Yui three-putted #1 for a bogey ... Shibuno tied for 1st at -1 thru six holes

Yui Kawamoto was two over after five holes and I thought it would be a bad round. However, after that she had five birdies and one bogey. Nice recovery.

I'm back from my parents' place and I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Turned on the "live" video and Shibuno went into first place with a birdie at #7 ... but Furue went crazy and is now tied with her ... and Shin went nuts, she's just one shot back.
Minami Katsu stunk it up Thursday and received the solo tee time booby prize on Friday.

There are a few surviving videos from Round Two, but I don't know if any have the two par-5 eagles on the back nine by Ayaka Furue. One of them was 17 yards from a bunker at #11 and the other was 32 yards from off the green at #13.
POS PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Erika Hara -9 -4 67 68 135 2T Ayaka Furue -7 -6 71 66 137 2T Yuna Nishimura -7 -6 71 66 137 2T Hinako Shibuno -7 -3 68 69 137 5T Momoko Ueda -6 -3 69 69 138 5T Ji-Hee Lee -6 -3 69 69 138 5T Kana Mikashima -6 -3 69 69 138 8T Jiyai Shin -5 -5 72 67 139 8T Sakura Koiwai -5 -2 69 70 139 10T Mi-Jeong Jeon -4 -3 71 69 140 10T Mamiko Higa -4 -3 71 69 140 10T Yuka Saso -4 -2 70 70 140 10T Mayu Hamada -4 -2 70 70 140 10T Ai Suzuki -4 -1 69 71 140 10T Minami Hiruta -4 -1 69 71 140
No surprise that the videos are dominated by the Shibuno/Hara pairing
Sakura Koiwai
Songbird Yui retreated with a 77 (+3 overall)
You can't see it here, but Hikari Tanabe (+5) chokes down on all her clubs
Ayaka Furue and JY Shin
Ayaka Watanabe (E) and Mi Jeong Jeon
Mamiko Higa and Saiki Fujita (E)

I wonder which Yui Kawamoto will show up the third round. The one with five birdies one bogey after two early bogeys first round. Or the one that hit four fairways, with thirty five putts and bogeys on four of the last five holes.

The above link is a real LIVE feed of Round Three ... Minami Katsu and Yui K. just teed off at #1 ... and now that link just ENDED.
Hikari Tanabe chipped in for birdie at the par-5 2nd hole.
