This one kicks off Friday at Yonex CC. SBS Golf will carry 2.5 hours per day for Rounds 2 & 3 starting at 5 PM Korea time. Naturally, Sun Ju Ahn is getting a lot of attention. The Yonex equipment bus is assembling a mixed iron set for Sun Ju Ahn. The 5 & 6 irons are N1-CB Forged and the 7 thru PW are Hybrid Titanium MBs.

Here's the promo for this week's JLPGA event. Warning: it contains a hilariously inappropriate English language song that I would think is probably not a good idea to blast at work. Someone wasn't on the ball at SBS HQ!

Didn't you clobber Hyo Joo Kim for winning with Yonex gear earlier this year?! Yonex...I wonder how far you can drive a golf ball with one of their tennis rackets? You need to find a 24-inch tee first.
Yes, I have TMZ reports...but I'm not as fast as those guys. I'm doing it in stages...I assume you checked the Tourney Reports folder, which has the pro-ams. I'll try to get Round One loaded later today.

Someone wasn't on the ball at SBS HQ! Good thing we're talking about a cable network here: an over the air network in Korea would have to answer to their equivalent of the FCC. KBS holds itself to even higher standards since they're the nation's public broadcaster. They rejected one of Big Bang's two recent releases "We Like 2 Party" because of the use of profanity and the mention of multiple brand names and yet during a health program they inadvertently showed the bare breasts of a prepubescent girl as a doctor was pointing out for concerned parents watching at home how to tell if their child has premature growth spurts.kpopselca.com/forum/k-drama-shows/kbs-reveals-young-girl-s-breasts-on-the-air-without-censorship-t46609/Just so you have an idea of what I'm talking about KBS2 is currently airing a drama called The Producers; you can find the subtitled version on Drama Fever and Viki. Filmed partly in mock documentary style (think The Office), it follows a fictional rookie PD (producer/director) in KBS' variety department. The star is none other than Kim Soo Hyun, best known recently as the extra terrestrial in the hit SBS series from early last year, My Love From The Star. Kevin

The player at 0:26 is Jae Eun Chung.
A translated article says Sun Ju Ahn has played only five events this season, due to a herniated disk in her neck, but it's healed now.

Chung has 4 top tens but still no wins this year. She is the probably the best Korean player playing on the JLPGA who has not yet won in Japan (I don't think she's won before this year).

Do you remember the popularity of the Yonex composite drivers back in 1992/1993.....FIGJAM I believe was gaming one. I rarely go to that section of the forum.....so I didn't know you had your reports there. Those are some NASTY GOOD REPORTS.....KUDOS! So was your new flea bag motel worth the $17/night premium over previous years?

mr3putt:
I really can't make a cost comparison between this year and last year because I stayed over on a Friday night this year (which is expensive), but did not do that last year.
As for the motel, it was ok, no problems, but that area of Route 9 north of the Seaview is way too quiet. For practical purposes, I want to be near supermarkets and fast food joints on a road trip, but there aren't any where I stayed at. I'm probably going back to Rte. 30 next year. BTW, I went down to Rte. 30 Friday night and stopped at McDonald's. I think there were a couple of caddy types there, Spanish-speaking I believe.

Speaking of Teressa Lu
Teressa Lu won the tournament last week. She dropped one spot in the Rolex Ranking. Jiyai Shin came in second and gained four spots. Never heard of a tournament winner falling in the rankings. I guess if she win this week she will drop two spots.
