I wonder if that Jeong Eun Lee is 5 and not 6. Usually they add the 6 to Lee6 name. No, no six either. The only new one from Korea is Mi Jung Hur. Also Hyo Joo. I'm fairly surprised about So Yeon's absence. She has been on the LPGA longer than many of these other absentees, I would think that would motivate her to be here. Perhaps having won the Korea Women's Open has reduced the urgency for her to play on the LPGA?

The Americans have finally figured out how to dominate the LPGA again. Just have a global pandemic that scares away the best players.

The caddies will be permitted to drive carts and will wear bibs instead of overalls ... players still have to walk ... temps will be 105-115 F next week.
115 F is unbearable, no matter what. I wonder whether the extreme heat will benefit players like Mi Hyang Lee, who seems to be petite and trimmed.
I don't know if Mr. Lee (age: late 60s) returned to the U.S. with MHL ... if he's here, he needs to stay indoors with the AC blasting him. As an example, Accuweather says it will 87 F at 7 AM next Thursday! It's good that they didn't sell tickets for the re-sked ... considering your typical Palm Springs residents, they'd be falling like flies from the bleachers under these conditions.
Whose idea was this anyway? Accuweather says the Rancho Mirage highs next week on Thu. thru Sun. will be 102-111-113-108. I don't know if they are permitting practice rounds this weekend, which would be a suicide mission from Fri. thru Mon. (116-119-118-121). Oh wait, I forgot ... it's a DRY heat.

Go DK Go! Having a "default" world #1 is pathetic.

Which reminds me ... how can I continue calling Lucky Six "The Total Package"? Unless she changes her mind at the last minute, she's skipping ANA, Portland and KPMG ... by logical extension, she'd skip ShopRite, too.
*****
MJ is skipping ANA and Portland (where she picked up her first win) ... she's playing KPMG, which means she'll probably play ShopRite, too.

HF, that was your evil twin who wrote the above question about SY Ryu, not you, correct? I'll give you a chance to take it back and we'll just forget about it.

It appears that the SS Feng is anchored in the middle of nowhere indefinitely.

I hope Yui wins somewhere, she has more ballz than all these "playas" combined.

Several course changes are documented in the pics of the article above. I've never been there and have no idea how these changes will play out. Without the grandstand, I don't even know what's behind the 18th green.

It's actually a cool hole w/o the backstop blocking the water behind 18 green.

No Hyo Joo, what a joke. One of the very best players in the world in 2020.

They final field added seventeen more to the previous entry list of 88 players. Yui Kawamoto got in, I guess that's why she was practicing so hard.
As I suspected Hee Jeong Lim dropped out. I don't think that she has played in any Tournaments over here. So it didn't make sense for her to come here for one Tournament.

Honestly, I don't blame So Yeon at all for blowing off the ANA and avoiding the annual rehashes (like this one) about the injustice to America's Sweetheart. golfweek.usatoday.com/2020/09/07/ana-inspiration-covid-no-fans/Three years ago, the excitement at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course was palpable after Lexi Thompson received a four-stroke penalty on the back nine of the final round. Fans willed her around the course, chanting “Le-xi! Le-xi!” as she came to the final hole needing eagle to win the championship.
The atmosphere was even more spine-tingling in the playoff. And when it was over, as a defeated Thompson collapsed in her mother’s arms, a crowd of kids lined up outside the autograph tent to meet America’s best player.

It's actually a cool hole w/o the backstop blocking the water behind 18 green. It would be, if the LPGA had the guts to do that. Unfortunately, there will be "still be something there to stop the ball" according to Beth Ann. golfweek.usatoday.com/2020/09/07/ana-inspiration-covid-no-fans/While there won’t be any seats around the first tee or the 17th or 18th greens, there will be scaffolding and signage. That’s of particular interest for those who like to go for the green in two on the closing hole: There will still be something there to stop the ball.

BTW I was cleaning up the NWA off my tivo and noticed that Tom (I think) referred to Fassi as 'the superstar Maria Fassi'. I don't think he was joking. He immediately tried to justify it by mentioning she had won the NCAA tournament a few years back, because, as you know, ALL women who win that event are called superstars by Golf Channel.
