The next KLPGA event will take place June 5th through 7th. Kyu Jung Baek is the defending champ, but it looks like both she and Lotte sponsoree Hyo Joo Kim will be taking a pass on playing here this year to focus on the LPGA for the next two weeks.

Here's the promo for this week's event. Looks like In Gee Chun will be sitting this one out. After 11 straight weeks, she's due a rest!

Interesting... It looks like Yoon Ji Cho was invited to appear on Winner's Car this week instead of Jung Min Lee. Normally, Lee would be on the show because, well, she was the winner at the E1 Charity. But perhaps she took a pass, having appeared only a few weeks ago, and allowed 8-birdies-in-a-row Cho to appear instead.

Round 1: Soo Jin Yang Takes First Round Lead
It has been a long time since perennial KLPGA star Soo Jin Yang has put herself into the lead at a KLPGA event, but she did just that Friday, shooting a 7 under par 65 to take a one shot lead after the first day. And she did it wearing one of her own designs! In second place is journeyman player Sung Hyun Park, who shot a 66. Lurking is Jung Min Lee, last week's winner. Lee shot a 68 and is three back. She has a chance to take over the top spot on the money list this week, as In Gee Chun, the current top player, is taking a long delayed week off. Two more rounds! Scores: 1. Soo Jin Yang 65 -7 2. I guess So Jin came on after I stopped watching. I could only watch for about an hour. I wont miss her next time. She is one of my favorites that has been missing from the leaderboard, for a while .

Round 2: Park Takes a Three Shot Lead
Little known player Sung Hyun Park continued her great play, shooting a 68 to move to 10 under and a three shot lead. Soo Jin Yang struggled a bit in round two, but still shot a 73, which left her close to the lead at 6 under total, tied for third. Meanwhile, Jung Min Lee, two times a winner already in 2015 (including last week), made her big move. She shot a 69 to move to 7 under total, ahead of Yang into second place. Rookie Gyeol Park had a great 68 and is at 4 under total. One more round! Scores: 1. Sung Hyun Park 68 -10 2. Jung Min Lee 69 -7 3. Ji Hyun Kim 2 69, Yoon Ji Cho 69, Soo Jin Yang 73 -6 Notables: 6. Shin Ae got to five under, but fell back late. Min Sun Kim, who I expect great things from, need to pick it up.

Round 3: Jung Min Lee Wins Third Event of Season
The round started with a bang. Min Sun Kim and Min Young Lee both made big runs up the leaderboard. Kim even got to 8 under, which was a tie for the lead at the time with Soo Jin Yang, Sung Hyun Park and Jung Min Lee. The event quickly devolved into a free for all between those players. As the round continued, the challengers dropped off. Soo Jin Yang got as close as a shot in the final few holes, but she had a late double and another bogey that killed her run. She finished tied for fifth. Min Sun Kim had a similar fate: a lot of big numbers late, including two doubles in her case, did her in. It ended up in a playoff between unheralded second year player Park and last week's winner Jung Min Lee. To no one's surprise, Lee made short work of her untested foe, winning on the first playoff hole when her opponent made a six. The win, Lee's third of 2015 and second in a row, will put her on top of the money list. Congrats to her on a great win! Scores: 1. Jung Min Lee 71 -8 (won in one hole playoff) 2. Sung Hyun Park 74 -8 3. Yoon Ji Cho 71, Hye Rim Kim 70 -7 5. Soo Jin Yang 73, Min Young Lee 67, Ji Hyun Oh 70, Su Hwa Jang 70 -5 Notables: 9. Shin Ae Ahn 71, Min Sun Kim 5 72 -4 12. That was crazy how wet the winner got soaked after her win...they might have well thrown her in the pond.
Anyone else thinks that Park has some same mannerisms as NYC?

Min Sun Kim actually got to minus nine. She had a really bad three putt right after Sun Hyun Kim drove out of bounds. Later she hit in the water and also drove it out of bounds for double bogeys.
The only one of the leaders that didn't have penalty strokes was Jung Min Lee. I knew she would probably win because of that, and she did.

Sung Hyun Park I think clawed her way back to 10 under at one point before falling back again. She reminds me a lot more of Song Hee Kim than NYC, if you remember that golfer who once upon a time seemed poised to become a huge star and then completely disappeared. It's interesting that In Gee Chun plays in Japan, and while she's gone, Jin Young Ko wins and takes over the money list. After Chun gets it back, she takes a week off, and Jung Min Lee wins and takes over the money list (although they are virtually neck and neck, just a few hundred thousand won between them). In Gee may not want to skip any more events!

It's Jung Min Lee's mannerisms that remind me of NYC. They have some attractive qualities, but in different ways. Their swings are definitely different...Lee has a flatter plane than NYC. From what I've seen on SBS Golf, Lee is as good as anyone at hitting a 3-wood off the deck. I'm sure the USGA will make that a required skill in Lancaster.

If Westchester is set up tough and a winning score is even or +3 or worse....you know the USGA won't be out shined by the PGA of America....and hopefully make Lancaster a brute. You p*ss me off...same with TonyJ.......2 majors and another event all within 90 minutes for you guys.....but I'm fortunate this year too.....as my fanboying is only a 15 mile jaunt. at the CN CWO. I might even head into KoreaTown only 500 yards away from the course and see if any Sista's are willing too pick up my dinner tab.
