Am watching the featured group of Pressel and Creamer. Feels like a ceremonial, farewell kind of grouping. Let's face it these two are dinosaurs. The game has passed them by. Once touted as future greats, both got swept aside by a wave they did not see coming. Morgan getting her heart broken by Birdie Kim all those years ago was a foreshadowing of her entire career perhaps. Young white girls coming up in golf today today know better than to dream of big success on the LPGA etc. Poor Morgan and Paula didn't. They are symbols of America's golf heartbreak. (Forgive my nonsense I have had half a beer.) ThrowBackThursday 😁! But I take issue with your grouping Pressel with Creamer as being out of it. She’s had some good results this year and showed today she can still compete.

For some reason I liked Mamiko since she played in the first International Crown. I don't know why but there is something about a golfer, that I like the first time I see them. She played great but I think that she lost a close match. Then she went in a slump for a year or two, but she is back now.

Round 1 Not a bad start for most of my favorites. Jeongeun Lee 6 even got a little TV time today. She didn't have her A game and still shot a 70, which is good news if she does find her best stuff tomorrow and/or on the weekend. Inbee also played well with only her B putting. She seemed eerily confident in post-round interviews today. Look out for her! So Yeon and Jin Young, Sung Hyun, Amy; most of the rest of the stars did well enough and are still well in it. Mirim was on the leaderboard for a while, too. Sei Young got up to 5 under before falling back, but she's definitely on a roll right now; let's see if she can cash in with the big prize. Sisters Hwaiting!!

The usga.org streaming starts at 10:30 AM. Let's see if FOX tries to avoid showing Lucky 6, who is -2 thru 7 holes and -3 overall.
Ji Hyun Kim and Jenny from The ROK during practice round. I'm not keeping track, but has Kim posted any good scores during her rare appearances outside Korea? She opened with +6 and is now +7 overall after four holes. She has some appealing qualities, but I don't expect to see any of them in person if she can't cut in the big leagues.
Nice group shot from Thursday...Mi Hyang had eight pars and one bogey on the back nine this AM...I'm not complaining if she continues to avoid big numbers. HoJo (+4) had two doubles on the back nine.

It would be perfect if Lee6 wins this US Open.

In fact, Ji Hyun Kim was in contention on the weekend last year at this very event (before Ariya took off and only Hyo Joo could catch her) and finished t-10th. I'd say a pretty decent result!

YES!!! MHL birdie the par-5 9th to finish today at +2 overall (T-61) ... not great, but there should be enough bad golf this PM to get her into the weekend.
Good for the viewers that Inkster was not on the air to report on her face paint and hair ribbon specialist Paula Creamer. Instead, we had Castrale point out the stuff PC does...and can't do.
Wow, Minami got off the canvas and knocked out the back nine to finish at Even overall.

Tell Hank the Doofus that the best Lee is from Australia...she is -2 on her first 8 holes today (the more difficult front nine) and -2 overall...she could grab this tournament by the throat if Higa cracks on the front nine.
*********
MHL moved up to T-52 without playing a shot.
