The golf is scheduled for Aug. 23-26 at Pondok Indah Golf Course in Jakarta, Indonesia. There are individual and team medals for men and women. The individual winners in 2014 were C.T. Pan and Gyeol Park. Believe it or not, the ROK finished second behind Thailand for the women's team medal in 2014. Pan lead Taiwan to the team gold in 2014. I'm guessing SY Ryu's scores from 2006 are a record on the women's side...she was about 400 strokes under par.
Per Wikipedia, a non-golf news item:
On 20 August 2018, Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) had sent home four Japanese basketball players; Yuya Nagayoshi, Takuya Hashimoto, Takuma Sato and Keita Imamura from the Asian Games because of a prostitute scandal after the players were spotted in a notorious red light district of Jakarta in their national jerseys on Wednesday night, following a 82–71 win over Qatar.

I recall that So Yeon was 29 under par over four rounds to win the gold. Before 2014, the Korean women's golf team had won the previous three team gold medals. It was a bit of a bummer that the year they failed to win was the year the Games were in Korea! Still, Gyeol Park saved a little face with her gold medal in the individual event. I posted the link to the team page in another thread, but here it is again. You may recognize Hae Ran Ryu among the three women players! Korean golf team for 2018 Asian Games

So Yeon has been a great player for such a long time. Her career on the LPGA has been great, but I think that it could have been even greater. However there is still time for her to elevate it even higher.

Anytime someone wins multiple majors, like Brooks Koepka, we have a tendency to think they may double their total and get to 4 or 6. But just winning one, whether it’s the first or the next, is a lifetime achievement. It really felt like Yani would get to 10 at the time though. Hey, still might!

donYani is the youngest to get to five majors; younger than Jack or Tiger. Many observers, myself included, had little doubt that Yani would eventually win 30 majors.

Everyone has heard of Chinese checkers. Have you heard of Chinese chokers?
Gold Phillipines -22 Silver ROK -19 Bronze China -18
Thailand -11
Japan -7
--------
Gold Yuka Saso PHI -13
Silver Wenbo Liu CHN -10
Bronze Bianca Pagdanganan PHI -9
Ayaka Furue JPN -9 Atthaya Thitikul THA -8 Haeran Ryu ROK -8
Saso showed me some upside potential during her PM round at her 2018 USWO qualifier...definitely want to see Thitikul if she's ever in my neighborhood.
