my understanding is that by winning the pro-test tournament USA.Hawaii's Eimi(Amy) Koga will get to compete in the rest of the Jlpga schedule this year starting with this tournament, except for the few majors... the other 20 players will have partial exemption i assume, based on their tournament ranking... Another note is that the 2nd place winner was also from the USA,Hawaii, Kacie(Casey) Komoto born in honolulu, attended nortwestern. It appears Eimi Koga attended univ of washington and is now at univ of hawaii. as far as i know, these two are the only players from the USA currently on the main jlpga tour. a couple of instagram photos: http://instagr.am/p/BlyiR_uAS_n http://instagr.am/p/Blz4M_SAR52

Kacie Komoto is in my memory banks from the 2016 USWA...she looked like a Mini-Me version of Yumiko Yoshida and she was playing PXG gear. She successfully negotiated a nine-way playoff for the last five spots into the match play rounds. Her reward was getting squashed by Hye Jin Choi in the first round.

Early Thursday AM prep:
Hikari Fujita will be making her 10th start on the big tour in 2018 and has only a T-57 to show for her efforts.
Bo Mee Lee and Haruka Morita
Erina Hara and Megumi Kido

At the Wed. night party, the photo collections below showed the ladies displaying the goodies of Meiji, a snack food company in Japan. The first set includes Yuting Seki (5th picture), who is making her 2018 debut on Japan's big tour...she has made three of four cuts on the Step Up tour. The second set includes a player I never heard of before, Yu Yonezawa (3rd picture). At age 29, she's a Step Up tour lifer, but has achieved a little bit of traction on that tour in 2018...this is her second start on the big tour this season.

Hikari Fujita had left elbow surgery (i think january of this year). she has a whole series of articles about her life off and on the golf course in the Alba website called "Mind Travel" named for an album by one of her and also my favorite rock singers, Shiho Ochi (aka Superfly). She has been one of my fav players after she won the fujisankei tournament few a few years back by making a 20ft putt on the last hole of a playoff, her only win on tour.
i hope she can get back playing at the top of the leaderboard.

Ayaka Watanabe started with a double and triple bogey the first two holes. However she hung in there and finished plus four.

No luck finding a live Youtube link for the 1st hole tee offs...maybe it will be posted later...the regular Round One broadcast was posted a few hours after play finished.
Karis Davidson (-3 thru 9 holes) and Pei Ying Tsai (-3 thru 7 holes) have the best starts so far for Round Two.

I wonder what happened to Ai Suzuki. Her name was on the Ricoh British Open early list. But didn't play. She didn't play in this tournament either.

Bo Mee doesn't look healthy. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the usual pizzazz is not there.
