No way am I allowing anyone else to start this thread FIRST!!! They tee off on Thursday, July 26 and they'll be at a different venue this year (Gullane GC)...it's on the coast near the North Sea and I hope the weather is just as rotten as last year. The course is par-71, 6480 yards. Some prominent names are on the LPGAer alternate list: Stoelting, Woods, Hedwall, Shon, Tseng and Lang.
Isn't great how IG can run this priceless video on a continuous loop?

The men's Scottish Open just wrapped up at this same venue, where Brandon Stone almost posted the European Tour's first ever 59 for his come-from-behind victory at -20. They've had an unusually hot (by Scottish standards) and dry summer so far and the fairways had gotten a little brown and the rollouts have been fairly generous. Ah, but Scottish weather can turn on a dime (£0.076) and it could just as easily be wet and wild.
The men and women will be playing the same venue next year as well, so watching the guys first will again provide some clue to how the course will behave when the ladies take the stage two weeks later.
Like last year, TV coverage is produced by the LET, probably with the same two LET announcers who never heard of half the players (but we can be sure to hear some interesting stories about Rebecca Artis).
