All three of the top Sisters had OK but not great days today and still are in position to win if they can kick it into gear tomorrow. This is a course that could yield a low score or two, so there is still hope.
In Gee seems to play better towards the end of her rounds each day. But she needs to get off to a better start Sunday if she wants to be a factor. Inky really seems to be rusty on her scrambling from around the green. She has left a few out there after indifferent chipping this week. I'm not sure what it would take for Mirim to claim the trophy. She has the length to putt for eagle on 17 and 18, so if she can grab one or two of them, that might be the ticket.

GO SISTERS!!!
In Gee hit only one of her first five fairways yesterday, I'm supposed it's related to her back.
On the other hand she's -2 on her front nine on Thursday; so it may be a day to day situation.
Who would have thought two years ago, that the Thai players would have four LPGA wins. Two third of the way through the season and Pornanong would not be one of them.
Anyway Thidapa Suwanapura played the last two par fives three under. Then won it with another birdie on the first playoff hole. While Brittany played them even, including the playoff. Your length is an advantage only if you can execute under pressure.
Just one Sister managed to play well enough to make the top ten. To give you an idea of just how bad that is: since 2009, a Korean born player has won this tournament every single time it has been played except once. Yet even here, on their favorite course in America, they get outplayed by virtually unknown American and Thai players. They not only weren't a factor for the win, only one managed a top ten.
Inky shot a 4 over 75 and In Gee an over par 72, and In Gee at 25th place was the second highest ranked Korean in the field. At least Mirim had a decent week, although she managed to bogey the final hole as well.
Reluctantly, I now predict that In Gee will not win a tournament in 2018. In fact, I further predict that she will fall out of the top 30 in the world rankings by year's end. I love her to death, but she just is lost at sea right now, and I don't see that improving any time soon.
Inky needs to buckle down, because she runs the risk of being the albatross on team Korea at the International Crown. She is better than this, I know she is.
I really expected In Gee to have a really great tournament this time. I still have the same fate in her that I had before this tournament. Thirty four putts didn't help her cause today, but it is what it is. Unless she is injured she will play well the rest of the year. As I said once about Lydia, is that she didn't luck into those earlier wins. She earned them with talent and poise.

The thing about In Gee is, the talent is still there. But she doesn't seem to be able to harness it like before. I don't know if she's having lapses in concentration or interest, or she isn't seeing the improvement she was hoping for and is getting frustrated. But during the first round, she looked just like I always remember her (they show her so infrequently these days that it's hard to get a real sense of what her typical round looks like).
Anyway, based on what I've seen, I think it's always possible she could have a great week and get a win, but my prediction is she will need to sharpen up her game a lot to contend on a regular basis.
