account_disabledDo you know why so many players skip this event? The prize money isn't high but isn't the lowest. Frankly, it's a better tournament for LPGA members than Ladies Scottish Open, which attracted a good field last year. Ladies Scottish Open has the advantage of attracting players who're in the UK to play Ricoh Women's British Open the week after; but it used to be a LET event and purse is smaller than Marathon.

account_disabledDo you know why so many players skip this event? The prize money isn't high but isn't the lowest and there isn't any tournament scheduled next week. It appears that players, like PGA Tour, do choose and pick where they play more so than 3-4 years ago. So Yeon will not play for three straight weeks. I tried to see if there were other tournaments that she may play in. Don't seem to be any, even the KLPGA is off this week. Mika Miyazato is in the field. I haven't seen her name anywhere lately. I wonder if she is a former winner.

The new PGA season will start 10/1/2018 and ends on 8/25/19; no tournaments in December and September.
The four majors will be played in April (Masters), May (PGA), June (US Open) and July (The Open); similar to LPGA but with PGA and US Open flipped.

An In-Kyung Kim interview is head and shoulders above any other player interview, and this one doesn't disappoint...meditation, her best friend on the road, Special Olympics ("it's what makes the USA great") and signing up for an event to find out what women outside of golf are all about. I highly recommend spending 10 minutes watching it, despite the fact that the LPGA cameraperson couldn't hold still...next time, please invest in a $20 tripod for your phone.
