A field of 120 will tee it up Thursday on Jeju Island, including Hyo Joo Kim and Jin Joo Hong (where has she been at?). Shin Ae Ahn won’t be here...has a bum right knee and who knows how long she’ll be out. Her Twitter account has been ominously silent for a week. It won’t be the usual Ice Box Open this year...extended forecast says it’ll be in the high 50s to low 60s with a shower here and there. SBS will carry it live for five hours a day at Noon local time (or Wed. thru Sat at 11 PM EST). Copycat logo alert:

I grew up in Wisconsin but the coldest place I ever played golf was Jeju Island. I have to give these girls credit. Glad to hear it isn't going to be too cold this week.

Have you ever played golf in San Fran? I played Harding and Presidio in the 1st week in August 2008....tee'd off around 830am and my hands were numb after 9 holes....the weather was sunny/cloudy. "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Fran".....Mark Twain. Fano....why were you on Jeju Island?

I played golf in San Francisco also at Harding Park and you are right it can get really cold. I tagged along with my brother once, he arranged a round of golf at Jeju and also in China. Nowadays I hardly leave California. Getting old I guess.

I'm getting old....couldn't stay awake to watch the stream and I'm in the PST time zone.
HappyFan If I was to show you pictures of the KLPGA roster....how many pros can you name off the top of your head?
I can like name 90-95%+ for the LPGA.....20%+ on the Symetra?....it's a shame there's no Symetra event in Seattle where their HQ (Bellevue) is....I'd drive down for a day or 2 to watch....that would therefore make a whooping 20 attendees, outside of friends and family.....lol.

I thought it was meh....maybe the highlight was on 14 or 15 looking over Lake Merced to see Olympic Club in the distance....lol. I can't believe it has hosted the Prez Cup, Champion tour and will be hosting the 2020 PGA Championship. The course is only sloped at 121 from the whites and 129 from the tips. It's priced OK for a SF residence but for an out of towner....$176....WTF.....luckily I was on a company President's Club trip....so I didn't put my hand in my pocket for Harding or Presidio. It's a shame some muni's in the US has these pricing practices...but it's a "what the market will bear" pricing mode.....Torrey/Bethpage, etcl.....we don't employ this pricing practice on our muni's in Canada. Though I have played some really fantastic valued US muni's outside of metro or touristy large cities. If I'm gonna lay out that kind of cash....I'm driving south to play Pasatiempo....but many won't spend the hour to drive.

The commercial breaks during Round Two were brutal. They would alternate between the same two Honma and Srixon commercials like a broken record...you'd see each one at least five times before returning to the tournament. All those Round Two pix above...and NO Hye Youn Kim? I'll fix it... Sharon is there in spirit...

I watched a little bit of round 3, and the same thing happened. Hyo Joo for Srixon, Honmania with Yoon Kyung Heo, over and over and over! Weird, it wasn't like that last year... I'm going to bed, but at this point the teen is still clinging onto a one shot lead with a few holes to go. Hye Youn just dropped a birdie to move to within 2.

The worse thing......the guys in the sauna in the Honma commercial......major fail. The Chung gal is cute. Sharon's still in the hospital for knee surgery. Is men's golf not popular in Japan and S. Korea.....holding events opposite of The Masters....huh?

I have no idea how Harding Park became so popular and I am shocked it now costs $176. I know the pros think it is a joke. It is most functional serving as a parking lot when the US Open is held at Olympic. Torrey Pines is another course that is an absolute rip off if you are an out of towner. It is over $200. It is a nice place to watch a tournament but not worthy of a US Open. The South Course at Mill Creek in Youngstown Ohio is a Donald Ross design that is way more fun to play than Torrey or Harding Park and the out of towner rate is $25.
