It's one step forward and two steps backward www.lpga.com/news/2018-sime-darby-malaysia-tournament-updateThe LPGA confirmed today that the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia will not be held in 2018 due to a change in government funding for the event as a result of the recent elections. With that change, Sime Darby has elected to not continue its sponsorship of the event to focus on youth development programs. While we are disappointed by the news, Sime Darby has been a strong partner for the LPGA since 2010, and we thank them for their support over the last eight years. The rest of the 2018 LPGA’s Asia Swing remains intact, and will now begin with the UL International Crown at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon, Korea. As for 2019, we are confident that we will have a tournament to fill this week on the LPGA Tour schedule.

Sept. 27 thru 30 is also the timeline for the Japan Women's Open, so that event might get a nice spillover of a few LPGAers.

Sad news. Kuala Lumpur was one of my favorite stops of the tour.
