The LPGA website shows 121 players in the field, along with 17 open spots:
2 - Sponsor Invite 3 - Golf New Zealand 12 - Tournament Invite
An article on the tournament website says they're keeping three spots open for players who planned to skip NZ and play in China (Oct. 5-8), before that event was cancelled.
If Lydia can't get a win against this bunch, it's Wait Until Next Year.

If Lydia wins; she's a good year, especially the way she's been playing all year.

LMAO Tina can't even sell off the 144 spots available. I'm sure Tina was greased to accept Windross as a host venue....looks like Windross is simply shilling...it's a relatively new course. WTF...it's $125 (resident) or $165 to play Windross but only under $2400/yr to obtain a yearly pass.
Let's see if Lydia is truly the Entitled Princess of NZ....will there be larger galleries than the Brooke Henderson Show? Auckland has a slightly larger population than Ottawa.
Lydia should be a hands on fav to win...but just like Brooke....Ko will buckle under the pressure.

Windross Farm looks cool. No sky-bunkers on the whole course.

"Burnt toast! Why I'll show you!" She's making that face because she caught a whiff of Vegemite or Marmite on that burnt toast.

Is Vegemite that bad?....I've never had it....but you're also talking to a guy who loves the guts of a lobster....as a past white GF told the Smiling Buddha on a dim sum 1st date...the Chinese would eat the armpit of a skunk too....nuff said.

The field has been revised to 124 definites, plus three Golf New Zealand invites and five Tournament invites. Junior is in this one, hoping a win will allow her to skip q-school.

It's definitely an acquired taste. Very similar to fermented foods with umami. By the way, the only things with 4 legs that the Chinese won't eat... tables and chairs.

Not a big tournament but some of the golfers need a chance to earn more money. The more tournaments even the small ones helps if you are trying to earn a living. One of them may get lucky and get the win which will go a long way towards keeping their card. Look how one really good tournament helped Brittany Altomare.

This has got to be the worst field ever assembled for an LPGA event (and by a wide margin). It will be interesting to see your field rating next week and to see how it compares to the poorest attended event in your archives. The Chinese can't be relied on to host any event. This NZ Open is running on fumes and no has yet to put a peg in the ground....it's a dead man walking. If Tina truly has any business acumen...she needs to arrange a close door meeting with Whan and McKayson next week...get the purse raised to $2M next year and switch to a limited field event to kick off the fall Asia swing. The Smiling Buddha has PM'd Tina his contact info if she needs more counsel.
