Fascinating article that talks in detail about the training the current Korean LPGA stars endured when they were juniors. Eye opening! Takeaway: Korean women are bada**es! A Coat, A Smile and Another Birdie

The article makes it sound like playing golf on Jeju Island in the winter is like trying to whack a ball around in Edmonton in January.
Jeju Island is considered Korea's Hawaii and is 35* N latitude and moderated......surrounded by water. Ya....it could get down to -10*C....but that would be extremely rare.
Van City is 49* N and it's not that bad playing golf here in the winter...a couple of layers would suffice. Golf in the winter would be fine here if we didn't receive tons of rain making the courses muck holes....unless you play on a upper end private.

Funny stuff. At the end they're like "Ok, so that's why the Koreans are so good!" then they're like "Maybe we should try that on our juniors" but then they're like "Nah, too harsh, they won't go for it." Funny to hear a non-American perspective on the Korean dominance. They have no problems acknowledging it whereas it has become a very touchy or even verboten subject for Americans. You don't hear much about it anymore. I guess it's gotten so pervasive that they can't possibly comment on it without appearing as 1) bigoted and b) sore loser. I think that Carolyn Bivens really f'ed up the situation by making a xenophobic fool of herself, and so now it's impossible for any American to even broach the subject for fear of association with that woman and her 20th century perspective. What happened to her anyways? Did she change her name and move to Alaska? We should go look her up on Linkedin or some shit.
