Ha Na follows Jiyai's footstep and will return to Korea. Is this a new trend?

She's quite the character. Hulk/Clover Girl will be missed.

According to the linked article, Ha Na is tired of American life... Wow, that is a surprise, I thought she was really enjoying being over here.
If she goes through with it, she will be the second Korean to leave the LPGA unexpectedly after winning the Australian Women's Open. This was also Jiyai Shin's final LPGA win.
And of course, we also had Q Baek seemingly abandon the tour this year as well. But at least in her case it's not so surprising.
So what does Ha Na do now? Spending the rest of her life on the KLPGA seems like a waste of her talents to be honest. Hopefully she'll reconsider at some point, perhaps after she spends a little more time playing in Korea and realizes she has outgrown it.

Jang's breakdown last year showed she was just smiling on the outside. She proved she can win at the highest level. Hopefully the Koreans will treat her better and she can find happiness.

From what I observe on social media, it seems slightly more fun and glamorous to be a female golf pro in Korea/Japan than here. I wonder if the girls who do come over are doing so for the pursuit of competitive glory, or else are interested in exploring western culture. These days an elite pro returning to Korea doesn't seem like a demotion necessarily. I am guessing there are a lot of unglamorous moments on the LPGA. Like getting creeped on at continental breakfast by middle-aged fanboys while staying at some Comfort Inn in Mobile Alabama or whatever. The LPGA tour is like a who's who of bumfuck suburban towns. Irving, TX, Williamsburg, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Rogers, Arkansas... these do not sound like fun places for Korean girls.
Maybe Ha Na saw the writing on the wall and realized that she will never have an In-Gee-at-TPC Sawgrass moment. Or maybe she has a nam-ja back home. Or maybe she got sick of hearing about Trump. Whatever the case I don't blame her. A part of me is envious--I'm sure she'll have fun while collecting KLPGA titles. She will be sorely missed on the LPGA. She is one of the gamest gamers out there, one of the few who genuinely appears to be having fun on the course.

I recalled one of the reasons Ha Na decided to join LPGA was to qualify for 2016 Olympics. Nothing's changed if she desires to qualify for 2020 Olympics.
Ha Na's made $2.63 million since she joined LPGA in 2015; she's unlikely to make more prize money in KLPGA. Given endorsement market is the same, financially there're no reasons for her to return to Korea.
In the end, it's a personal decision and there can be millions of different reasons for that.

suburban towns. Irving, TX, Williamsburg, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Rogers, Arkansas... these do not sound like fun places for Korean girls. I'm sure the only place the Asian gals enjoy playing in North America is Van City....some reasons why: - KoreaTown is a long par 5 to the west of Vancouver Golf Club. - I believe the owners of the Korean restaurants pick up the tab if they are visited by the Korean LPGA pros. - H-Mart in Koreatown to pick up snacks...I saw Team Hanwha and their Hanwha road manager there in 2015 - Low chance of rain delays in August....typical weather is 25*C, sunny...no humidity...no bugs. - One of the best cities for superior Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Vietnamese, fresh seafood, Italian, French, Steak Houses, etc, etc cuisine - 40-50% of the gallery are yellow faced and black hair ....and they root for the Asians. - The absence of idiot Yanks yelling stupid things in their backswing - No need to fight traffic...unless they go downtown. - Low crime. - Yank money is 35% greater than the Canadian peso. Hmmmmm.....Canada > Merica...ask Tonyj....there's a reason why he & Cindy will be attending their 8th straight CWO. Nuff said

Good for her. Make a move if it doesn't feel right.
I won't speculate as to why, ha, ya right.
I think the cool kids shut her out after dumbo never fully let her off the hook.

I don't understand why she needs to give up her card. There are plenty of gals with low status on tour who hold on to their cards, but play most of the time on other tours. By giving up her card, she loses the option to play any LPGA events.
Also, there seems to be an assumption that Jang is leaving because of luggagegate, but that doesn't make any sense. She will have to deal with far more people who care about that if she plays full time in Korea. I think we should wait until she explains what her reasons are when she has the press conference.

HappyFan Is Hyo Joo Kim also in danger of departing to KLPGA? She has been playing less and less LPGA events recently.

In Gee did say she fully accepted her apology and that they had put it past them. Not sure why people think In Gee is still carrying a grudge? (if you do have evidence to the contrary, please show me the link!).
