The Sharon Show will make a visit to Fukuoka CC and the action starts for real on Friday. The total purse of ¥120,000,000 is huge for a three-day tournament...maybe they have two days of pro-ams. Japan TV (local times): * cross-partial Ground Wave (tentative) May 12 (Friday) 24:25 ~ 25:50 (RKB) May 13 (Saturday) 16:00-17:24 (RKB, Kyushu/Okinawa JNN Series 7 stations net) 16:00 ~ 16:54 (TBS, MBS, CBC, HBC, RCC) May 14, (Sunday) 15:30-16:54 (RKB, JNN series 28 full net) * cross-partial CS Broadcasting (tentative) Golf Network (first hole live) May 12, (Friday) 7:30-11:00 May 13, (Saturday) 7:15 ~ 10:15 May 14, (Sunday) 7:00 am to 10:00 pm I might have links that work for the Japan outlets...don't know if there's a webcam option for the 1st hole coverage. SBS Golf will not carry it...not sure about JTBC Golf at this time. FB: www.facebook.com/hokennomadoguchiladiesThis channel has a few player interview videos made last month: www.youtube.com/user/rkbtv4/videosThe Matsumoris are here...I guess Ayaka does their talking:

I assume SQ is an invite? Are there a number of invite restrictions on the JLPGA as there are on the LPGA?

I don't know how the sponsor exemption process works over there, but it looks generous. This event's website has the full field of 108 and 18 of those players (including Sharon) are under a category called "organizer recommendations".
There's an article, which I can't find at the moment, that lists the next six JLPGA events SQ will enter. I'm sure it did not go unnoticed by the other tournaments that the Salonpas broke the tour record for attendance(13,097) during a First Round (having Lexi and Ai helped, too). Overall attendance was 8th highest in tour history.
A couple of postscripts on the Salonpas: First, the group pix of Ahn, Lee, and Kaneda walking down the 1st fairway in Round Four happened because the tour bosses asked the three players to walk together for the shutterbugs. Second, articles have quoted Sharon's dissatisfaction with her iron set...haven't found a good pic yet confirming what she played. I think she had the TM PSi model in Korea...maybe she was trying the 750s or 770s. I can't find a WITB posting for her yet.

The 750's have cleaner lines....but I don't think they are meant to be sold in the retail channels....$2,500 a set....I guess they want to give Parsons some competition....lol. The PSi Tour Forged model clubs are gorgeous....IMO definitely a sought after model that one should shortlist. An employee here in Golftown handed a customer 3 sleeves of 2 ball....TP5 balls for being patient. My friend bought a dozen for $60 and gave me a sleeve.....although I tried many times to refuse them....I'll test them out later this summer....but have have easily 100+ premium urethanes that I've found...never mind many new good balls sitting around. Supposedly the TP5 & TP5x play a bit softer than the older gen model of TP's. Those Japanese HORN DOGS will do anything to promote hot women....Japanese LUV their porn.....but all Asians are HORN DOGS....go to any stripper club and it's all the Asians in RUG ROW....lol....though I've never sat there before....LMAO.

The overly modest Bo Mee Lee taught Japan some Korean slang. When posting an IG pic of herself walking between Shin Ae Ahn and Kumiko Kaneda at Round Four of the Salonpas, BML said "I'm completely squid." Her explanation via Google translate: "It is very difficult to express in Japanese, but in Korea there is a phrase "becoming squid" when lying next to a beautiful girl. It is said that it is used in such a meaning that it is embarrassed, being somewhat caught or compared with a beautiful person and being compared.
On this day, pairing on the first day of the tournament was announced, Bomi pairing that Ahn Shin-Ae with Matsumori Ayaka. "I am a squid this week as well ..." she was bitterly laughing. ***** I was curious about ticket prices...I don't know if this event is typical of the JLPGA. An advance ticket covering all three rounds (purchased between Feb. 20 and May 11) is ¥ 6,000 (tax included)...that's about $53. Single-day tix will be sold at the gate: FRI ¥ 2,000 SAT ¥ 3,000 SUN ¥ 4,000 Admission is free for those who are junior high school age and below, but must be accompanied by a guardian. I don't know if spectators are permitted on the course during the practice and pro-am days.

What's the deal with Kotono's caddie? I don't think this is the same Caucasian caddie she had last year. So are there many Caucasian loopers in Japan, or has she cornered the market?

There's about 5 or 6 regular white caddies on the JLPGA;
Matsumori Sisters Mamiko Higa who's caddie is Jiyai Shin's former caddie in the US and is now her brother in-law. Shiho Oyama Kotono Kozoma Phoebe Yao
I've also noticed Ji-hee Lee and Megumi Kido use white caddies but i don't think it is permanent.

Round One resumed at 7 AM on Saturday (Japan time). They plan to start Round Two at 10 AM with no re-grouping. I have a streaming link that's working pretty well right now for TBS...we'll see if it has the golf at 3 AM Eastern on Saturday. It is mov3.co/tbs/Shin Ae Ahn dropped another shot at #7, now +4...partner Ayaka Matsumori made par to stay Even. Yumiko Yoshida/Sun Ju Ahn and Hee Kyeong Bae

philknjSharon has the right idea; she knows many male attendants are there to watch her in different kits.
