I'm planning my "big" trip this summer to San Francisco and Monterey. That'll take down 6 to 8 big courses, including Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Pasatiempo, The Links at Spanish Bay, TPC Harding Park, and Presidio. At some point I need to head out to east. I imagine there are a lot of excellent courses in New York state, including Bethpage. I haven't been to Virgina, either. My goal is to retire early, buy a 40 foot motor home, and travel around North America over a period of 2 years. I've traveled quite extensively, but there a lot of places I still haven't visited, or only visited briefly. I'd like to plod around from place to place check out the scenery, nightlife, and golf. I expect I'd play 5 to 6 rounds a week for 2 years. I gotta get the course count up to 1000 before I kick the bucket! For someone like you that Cali trip sounds perfect. I wonder how many courses I've played now. I've no idea. I bet less than 100. Agree on NY and Virginia. Maybe North Carolina too. Lot of muni Don Ross and stuff. I've been to Pinehurst, and the southeast tip of North Carolina near Myrtle Beach, SC, but that's it for the North Carolina. I love courses that wind through pine tree forests, so I have to get my butt there soon. You've got to hit the road. I've played over 100 new courses in 2015 and 2016.

Wait, what? 52 weeks in a year... two years... 104 weeks... over a 100 new courses... That's basically one new course every week! How do you even find time to make Dumbo head covers or curate your women's golf fashion catalog?

He's got a subservient Asian wife to shop and sew the head cover....all the while ....having a nice sandwich waiting for him when he comes home from the links. I wouldn't be surprised if she also cleans his clubs and polishes his golf shoes and changes the soft spikes every 6 months. I have a white wife...I clean her clubs and shoes and I also go into the creek to retrieve her golf ball....white women are EXTREMELY smart.
