I'm a huge fan, too, but I gotta call them as I see them. With the leaders shooting 65 to 68, an even par round is simply not going to do it. The course was set up for scoring on Sunday. There were 45 players, or 63%, under par for the day. Did you watch the tournament or are you just going by the score? I would freely criticize her if I thought she was playing terribly. I did watch it, and from what I saw, she was never scrambling for par, usually had 20 - 30 foot birdie putts which she just missed for easy pars, had a tough up and down on the short 16th so she didn't make a birdie, and until 18, where she had a fried egg lie in the bunker, she was playing steady but not great golf. So, not great, not Mirim Lee or So Yeon Ryu, not as good as Saturday for her, but not terrible. Yes, I watched the tournament. In fact, I've watched 95+% of every televised round over the past 7 or 8 years. Par golf is wonderful if you're out with your buddies on a sunny Sunday afternoon. 'Not so much if you're at the top of the leaderboard where your competitors are sinking birdies every 3 holes.

Bananas. If you could take down 20 more in any one state what would it be?

I re-watched In Gee's final round again. Everything was off a little be; driver, irons and putter.
I'm sure she's already diagnosed and tweaked and is A OK now. it better to happen at Kia than at ANA.
Time to win; go In Gee.

I'm planning my "big" trip this summer to San Francisco and Monterey. That'll take down 6 to 8 big courses, including Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Pasatiempo, The Links at Spanish Bay, TPC Harding Park, and Presidio. At some point I need to head out to east. I imagine there are a lot of excellent courses in New York state, including Bethpage. I haven't been to Virgina, either.
My goal is to retire early, buy a 40 foot motor home, and travel around North America over a period of 2 years. I've traveled quite extensively, but there a lot of places I still haven't visited, or only visited briefly. I'd like to plod around from place to place check out the scenery, nightlife, and golf. I expect I'd play 5 to 6 rounds a week for 2 years. I gotta get the course count up to 1000 before I kick the bucket!

I've played Harding & Presidio....IMO...not worth the money. Go onto WRX and ask the boys what other courses in Monterey, South SF & San Jose are are worth playing....Bayonet?...there are at least two others in Monterey worth playing.

She would have had to break the tournament record by two shots to even tie Mirim (Mirim was NOT going to lose). Guess we'll just have to disagree on this one. I believe it was one of those days where the score was not quite indicative of how well she played. For instance, she had several near miss putts; I liked the one where it hung over the lip and she watched her Tag Heuer, waiting her allotted ten seconds for the ball to fall without success. Certainly not the best she ever did in a final round, but she didn't struggle like MJ did, either. (or like she did last year when she was in a bit of a funk pre-Olympics). And she certainly was trying her best to win, it just wasn't her day. Better luck this week!

Face it, even if she had shot a 66, ! If Dumbo shot 66 to try and chase down Mirim... argonne69 nor I would have said In Gee was gag/choking....as Arg said...ya had to go down to T43 to see GIMMEE and Madelene shoot something higher than Dumbo's 72.

3putt do you wake up in the morning hoping one of these golfers have a bad round. Maybe a bad tournament. So you can repeat your gag/choking routine. How sad! There is not much difference between shooting 72 or sixty eight. The bounces has to go your way for the later. As the great golfer that you say you are, you should know that.

I played Bayonet many years before the redo. 30 mph wind. It was a blood bath. I was in the 100s.
Spyglass was another horror for me. I had par on the first hole. On the super short 2nd hole, I got in the ice plant and stubbornly tried to get out. A 13 took the wind out of my sails.

Par 5....lost ball left....lost ball left...5 off the tee...hit...hit...3 jack = 10....I SUCK.

She better....she'll save you $100/rd to loop for you and who better to make you a sandwich back in the motor home after 18 holes...Asian wives are the best....I got a white wife...she gets angry if her clothes aren't ironed (I'm a master clothes ironer though), dinner not made for her on time and if the jewelry I buy her is good enough.

I wonder how many courses I've played now. I've no idea. I bet less than 100. Agree on NY and Virginia. Maybe North Carolina too. Lot of muni Don Ross and stuff.
