I clicked this event on the LET website and they have the field posted...125 players, plus one sponsor invite TBA.
They'll be playing March 17-19 on the Blackstone course at Mission Hills CC/Haikou (Hainan Island, China). As usual, it's 40 CLPGA players, 40 KLPGA players, 40 LET players, and 6 sponsor invites. Amy Boulden and Carly Booth are the first two alternates.
Needless to say, the KLPGA is heavily favored to whomp everyone in the individual and team scoring. However, NK Madsen and NB Larsen of Denmark might be good enough to make them sweat for it. Three of my favorites are missing on the KLPGA list: Ji Hee Kim, Shi Hyun Ahn, and Shin Ae Ahn. I assume Sharon has the JLPGA's T-Point Ladies Golf Tournament penciled in for this week, but her status in Japan is iffy. As of now, her name is not in the T-Point field...I don't know if they have additional sponsor invites pending or Monday qualifying over there.

The last sponsor invite is Benyapa Niphatsophon. Boy, this event has sure lost its shine in the last couple of years...even the SS Feng won't drop anchor here. I saw Benyapa at the Seaview...long hitter (and the woods are full of them).

Not smart tournament scheduling on their part.

If Jung Min Lee isn't playing....none of the poster gals will be teeing it up. The Chinese are losing their touch to grease things to get a better sked and pros....where is The Smiling Buddha went you need him.
I assume TingTing and Muni are getting all the pro-am boys all lathered up.
This event will be on IGC next week in replays.

Forget about Ting Ting...she is now a regular on a REAL tour in Japan...and Muni is dozing in the library at USC. The pairings are so insipid (just like this tournament)...if I find a player I like, she's grouped with two players I don't care about. One exception would be the threesome of Ju Young Park, Jin Joo Hong, and Benyapa Niphatsophon...of course, they're in the last group going off at #10, so no one will see them. The CLPGA website is playing up Weiwei Zhang this week...who else have they got?

The morning wave is out and the Koreans aren't doing much...several are bunched at -1 while Georgia Hall leads at -4. Nanna Madsen is +3 thru seven holes...she plans to play the Symetra tour full-time this year...need to play a lot better to make the LPGA.

Round 2 was suspended. Great recovery by Ju Young Park (79-70) who will play Sunday if the cut line holds.
