I noticed Yuri Fudoh were in this tournament so I decided check on her. Between 2000 and 2005 she had thirty five wins, about six a year on JLPGA. She has a total of fifty wins. Her best one year total were 10 wins in 2003. Her lowest win total were 4 during that span. Her best finish on LPGA were 15th, in 2006 at Kraft Nabisco. She didn't play in many. That's where I noticed her because of her unique swing. I recall at least one Major where she was in contention on Sunday. I guess she must have shot really high that day. Was it the first British Open that Shin won (2008)? I dimly recall it was one of the ones a Korean player won. OK, I just checked. Good memory! Fudoh was the third round leader and finished tied for third behind Tseng and Shin.

From Wikipedia and the Jlpga website Yuri Fudoh has career total of 50 wins, she was T12 USWOpen in 2001 and T3 at the British Womens Open in 2008, she only plays the majors on the LPGA. She is 40years old. Ah, should have read more before I posted...

I keep hoping for Ai to start improving, but it looks like it's not going to happen. It seem like ages ago when I followed her in Phoenix along with her coach Len Marriot. She shot minus nine first round that day. She eventually lost to Lewis by making bogey or double, final round, I think the last hole.
I don't remember her contending too many times after that. One reason is her putting has gotten worse. Because of her length off the tee her short game has to near the top.

Maybe she forgot how to play in Japan. I watched her first round last year at the Seaview where she shot 64 (-7)...yeah, it's less than 6,200 yards, but her putter was on fire. It might be the only course left on tour than she can win on...and who wouldn't want to see that happen? She's a sweetheart. ******** Yuting Seki and Ayaka Matsumori Asuka Kashiwabara, Sky Kim, and Erika Kikuchi
