I'm working on a spec script for my coming-of-age K-drama series concept: "Hampyeong Golf High School". Think "Saved By The Bell!" meets "Fame" meets "Caddyshack" with a touch of "Dawson's Creek".

'Birdie Buddy' is not a new series...it was first broadcast starting in August 2011. Details: www.hancinema.net/korean_drama_BIRDIE_BUDDY.phpI haven't watch K-dramas in the last 5+ years, but I recognized the actress playing the mother at 4:24 of the video...can't remember her name, but she's a veteran in this medium.

Yeah, this is old news, but I guess the "real" golf fans on the other site didn't know that (nor did you ). I remember how the star of this show, "U E" (like the two letters, not sure how that is anglicized) appeared for years afterwards in all these advertisements for golf apparel (she was sponsored by Le Coq) and equipment instead of real KLPGA or LPGA golfers. Sample: I was mildly annoyed at the time that this Korean Wave starlet with no discernible golf talent whatsoever was fast becoming the face of Korean women's golf over there, while real golfers were not getting that attention. She also appeared at special golf clinics with Ha Neul Kim. Here's one from 2013: I also vaguely recall a hilarious promo for one of the episodes where the main character is in a tough spot and imagines how Se Ri would handle it... then the next shot has her hitting out of the trouble WITH SE RI'S FACE superimposed awkwardly over hers.
