Will In Gee need a new sponsor? www.hankookilbo.com/v/faf5b2186af3eb996b83abd883c7fa9d"It is difficult to say how much money you have received because of the confidentiality clause, but it is the best condition on the basis of the domestic players sponsored by Hite Jinro." Park Sung-hyun, who is on the LPGA tour of the United States, has been shrinking due to the fact that it has not been able to sign a main sponsorship contract yet. In this situation, there were three reasons why Hite Jinro tried to guarantee the best treatment to Ko Jinyoung. The sponsor appreciated not only his steady ability to win seven wins in just three years after turning pro in late 2013, but also his personality and prospects. Hite Jinro said, "We have completed the New Year contract before the start of the training to support the players who will lead the KLPGA box office with the revitalization of the domestic golf market." We are focused on domestic golf marketing as we are domestic companies. As a single sponsor, we sponsor the oldest major tournament in Korea and we mainly sponsor players who are playing domestically. "

How many years was Ko signed for? It's been generally assumed that she plans to quit the KLPGA after 2017. Sky Kim and MJ Jeon are in Japan and Dumbo is in the USA...if Ko leaves for the USA, then H/J has no big-timers in Korea. They should be planning to snag Hye Jin Choi the day she turns pro...assuming she doesn't take the USA route, too.

They would be fools to let In Gee go. Here is true story from late last year. I found myself at a NJ Korean restaurant with a bunch of friends. I asked the waitress about beers and they only had Korean brands: Hite, OB, Crown. I know nothing about Korean beer, nevertheless there was no hesitation whatsoever. By the end there were empty Hite bottles everywhere. All this because one guy in the group happened to be a fan of women's golf. Since Hite is sold in the US and since Korean culture is on the rise in the west, In Gee could still help them. Besides, will the Korean sports media not be following In Gee's every move anyways? There will be even more Korean eyes on the LPGA in 2017 now that their two biggest golf stars are over here.

philknj It's a 3 year contract for Jin Young Ko. There may be provisions if Jin Young bows out before the contract is up.

legitimategolf In Gee is by far Hite Jinro biggest marketing success, and they would love to keep her forever; but can they afford it? In this article, Hite Jinro is telling In Gee that "We're a domestic Korean company; our limit is one billion won per year."

It doesn't surprise me that "OB" beer does not sponsor golfers! Just saying!

Some companies (Nefs is another, so is Hanwha) prefer to sponsor up and coming golfers over established ones. Cheaper, and if they hit the jackpot, the ROI is through the roof.
Se Ri had this problem for a while, too. Once you get really big, you price yourself out of the market for all but a few top sponsors. It wouldn't surprise me to see In Gee try for a new, more lucrative sponsorship deal this year. Sung Hyun is in a different situation. When she last signed a contract she was literally a nobody. So she should hold out for something good. On the other hand, if she's a bust in America, she could cost herself a lot of money if she is too picky now.
