I found this hilarious clip of Ha Neul that was published shortly after she won her first event of this year in Japan. Apparently she has a rather unorthodox method for practicing sand shots? OK...who understands Korean?....WTF is SKY trying to accomplish banging the sand?

The clip is labeled "Kim Ha Neul's strange bunker practice'. I don't understand everything she says, but part of it has to do with the speed and depth of her sand hits helping her with her normal bunker shots. Hard to see how, but if it works for her, I say keep doing it!

So many Korean players use the equipment, I assumed it was a Korean company. Are there any major Korean golf equipment companies?

Volvik and Nassau (KSig) are Korean ball companies. I guess the Koreans haven't figured a good way to break patents and copy other OEM club manufacturers yet....like all the other things they pirate and copy from the Japanese....(cars, electronics, etc).

I admit I pay next to no attention to the corporate structure of golf companies.

I didn't realize that Honma is a Japanese company. So many Korean players use the equipment, I assumed it was a Korean company. Are there any major Korean golf equipment companies? ELORD is Korean-based. In the early 2000s, Shi Hyun Ahn wore ELORD golf attire and she might have used their golf gear(not sure about that). ELORD appears to be a division of Kolon Industries. Website: www.elordclub.com/main.htmlThese blinged-out sticks must be marketed to, using the words of mr3putt, "Asian pansy boys." Their current top-shelf irons have 17-4 stainless steel heads(!)..no pro or skilled amateur would touch them. Se Ri Pak was briefly associated with a Korean brand, E2 or EMAX. They might not exist anymore. Regarding golf balls, there's also Saint Nine (made by Nexen)...the KLPGA has a tournament named after this ball. I've also seen commercials on SBS Golf for Xperon and Z-One balls, as well as Saint Nine. Check out the USGA's conforming ball list which includes country of origin. Regardless of where the best Asian players come from, Japan towers over all of Asia in the business of golf.
