Minjee and So Yeon should have a contest of who can bounce a quarter the highest off a made bed. Don, I've learned more idioms from both you and fanofseri than any others. Thanks a lot.

Well, I wanted a close one and I got it! Congrats to Minjee on hanging in there. Even if it ended up being a little bit of a gift from Jutanugarn, she still had to make the birdie to seal the deal, and she did it. You know, two months ago, a Sister suffering a two shot swing on the 71st hole like Minjee would have ended up losing on the 72nd hole. Somehow the breaks are now falling the Sisters' way again. But I had a feeling on the final tee that Ariya was going to muff it; she looked really nervous, and her usual forced smile before the drive did not have the usual oomph. Other than Minjee, this was one of the worst events this year for the Sisters, with nary a Korean in the top ten. Granted, they were a little short staffed this week, but I'm especially surprised that Sei Young and Chella did not rally somewhat on the weekend. Hwaiting!

And I'm sticking with my comments about Minjee and interviews. Look, I don't see why anyone thinks I'm insulting her. I like her and I cringe a little inside when she has trouble articulating what she wants to say. I know they have media training on tour, I hope she takes advantage of it. She's going to be a big star, and it would really help her if she got better at talking for the cameras.

Still bummed to have NYC struggling, but how can I not be happy to see May and Waen both record top 5s. And May has a legit shot at POY, though I never underestimate Lydia Ko and her ability to close out the year strongly.
...and of course, happy to see (future) multiple Major winner Wiesy notch a much needed top 10, watered down field or not.

It's hard to make a neat-n-tiddy joke but they are the drill sargents of LPGA fashion. I could see So Yeon dropping her bag off at the dry cleaners.

I re-watched her interviews after Rounds 1, 2, & 4 at lpga.com...the one from Round 1 was particularly awful. However, most of the blame is on the ladies conducting them, who are incompetent...80% of their "questions" are not questions, they're just observational statements or opinions that elicit no new information from the player. It's particularly bad since the broadcasters are Aussies and should know detailed background stuff on Minjee that the rest of us don't know. Minjee must have been on camera for almost the entire tournament; they should be taking notes on particular shots, caddy discussions, and practice routines of hers, which can be turned into real questions which would force her to give real answers, not meaningless mush. BTW, they flashed a detailed graphic of Minjee's WITB (XXIO/Srixon/Cleveland). I hope this becomes a common practice in televised tournaments...the viewers are not idiots and we won't be contaminated by "free advertising". I noticed there was only a one degree difference between her shortest FW and her lone hybrid. I assume there's an appropriate carry distance gap between the two clubs. Sometimes the JLPGA broadcasts will flash a graphic of carry distances for particular players.

Another thing. Michelle Wei need to find a good Golf Professional and change her hold game. Her swing and also her putting. Not only is she not playing good golf she look really bad doing it. She is young and talented enough for wholesale changes. Don't think she can get any worse, so why not try it. Michelle appeared to have returned to the shortened swing of 2014 when she led the LPGA in GIR's for most of the season, and was hitting a stinger 3 wood off the tee on many holes. It sure seems to have made things better, as she was darn near DFL in her previous tournaments. I really doubt she'll ever rise to the top of the rankings, but if she simply wants to continue making a living on tour, this simplified swing could work, as it did in 2014.

I'm really quite BAFFLED how much the ROCKET is overlooked on this site by the members....the LPGA will be devastated when she retires....Whan should start planning her retirement ceremony now so it will be a spectacular.....nuff said.

Sometimes the JLPGA broadcasts will flash a graphic of carry distances for particular players. The details are still not specific enough for my tastes.....I also want to know what shafts they play...and not just Aldila Rogue for example...I want to know the stiffness and whether it's the Black or Silver, etc. Detail Shafts Matter! One of the best WITB's are the one's on WRX of the PGA tour. A guy named Greg (PGA43 alias) flies to many events and basically spends all his time on the range or practice green taking pics and getting info...he sometimes travels to LPGA events and post many club pics.....I'm a club/shaft fanboy too. I'm not surprised with the gapping. For example.....a 18* FW and a 3H at 19* might give Minjee the 10-15+ yard gapping she requires.....the FW is likely up to 2" longer than a 3H depending how the shafts are trimmed and tipped. Kinda surprised Minjee doesn't play some of the newer Srixon irons....they are beauties. Just saw a Korean lady at the range a few days ago with XXIO irons....I see my fair share of XXIO's here in Asia Central. But if I see a Asian guy gaming them...then they are likely vanity clubs because the guy's a poser. But they are effect tools for them to lure any hawt Asian gals because it generally equates to money. We should start a Go Fund Me page for fanofseri to get him a set of Honma irons...I bet I can find a fairly cheap used set on eBay for $1000. It would at least trick any Korean women to say yes when he asks to join their 3some at the San Clemente muni.

As I said before...I don't think Minjee is all that bad at the interviews...I just think she's a natural introvert and would rather shy away from any limelight....she does enough just to get the good endorsements.
We won't be seeing any bikini shots of Minjee any time soon...unlike SYR or the LOVELY HYP....I think Minjee is the kind of gal that would rather have her clubs do the talkin.
Just watch her mannerisms outside the ropes at an event and you'll see what I mean. I think she's good friends with Sura Ko.

Someday when the LPGA puts me in charge of marketing I'll make the definitive So Yeon commercial where she's ironing her golf towel and fine-tuning the curve of her hat brim with a protractor. I do overlook The Rocket. I'll try to get over to the fashion thread on the other site more often.

I hope you are right about Michelle. I remember when she first came to play in the Phoenix golf tournament. They had to scramble to add more buses, because the fan turn out were much more than they expected. I just think that her over all game has gotten really bad. She made about 64 thousand dollars this year, in twenty three tournaments. Most of it the Blue Ray.

So the Minge is kind of a dud personally. I still love her. She takes her job serious and looks extremely good doing it.
