Have fun. Make Pete Willett proud and be an obnoxious Yank fan. We were obnoxious. It's fun. I'd love to attend a RC in Merica and stick it back to all the clown Yanks...back right in their faces. Can you imagine the Smiling Buddha wrapped in a PROC flag leading the Euro fans in an OLE OLE...that would be #AWESUMMER.

The goons in the gallery make this pitiful exhibition tough to watch. Greed, nationalism, alcohol and inbreeding are a dangerous mixture. Willett's brother was spot on. This is a post I held off writing for years, but seems timely right now. I've often been asked that of I love golf so much (I would correct that to say women's golf), why don't I attend events. I've given many excuses but none have been the truth. This is why. BKB Attending LPGA is so tame.....I've attended close to a 100 LPGA rds and have never met or come across a rude fan. I think the audience at a spelling bee championship is more rowdy than a LPGA gallery. I actually sometimes enjoy chatting with the spectators so much that it takes away from me watching golf...on average I likely chat with 20+ vols, club members, spectators, parents, loops, etc per day at a LPGA event.

As a poor kid who went to school with lots of generationally wealthy rich kids, I know not all of them act the same. But there were enough of them that judged me by my skin color and economics that it has left me a bit apprehensive. They made sure I knew I wasn't welcome there. I won't back down. So bottom line is when I see my fellow Americans behaving as they have this and other weeks at Ryder Cup it reminds me of those rich bratty kids I went to school with...again, it's not all rich people...money doesn't make you an a-hole...but if you were already an a-hole, it can make things worse. I wasn't made to feel welcome back when I was a kid. I don't feel like going to an environment where I don't feel welcome now. edit: by the way, in case you think I misinterpreted things, they told me to my face they didn't want black kids at their school. BKB So if you didn't back down...did you punch out all the rich kids you went to school with? What did the other black guys do in your school? I also went to HS with a good number of rich kids....west end of Hamilton. After my dad went bankrupt, my parents didn't have $20 to send my sister on a school trip to Ottawa in 1973. As a poor visible minority Chinese kid...I faced racism too by a select few....but it is what it is...I dealt with it...and had to handle situations on my own....none of this girly stuff nowadays like...put on your pink shirt written with"Don't Bully Me" stuff. But I had fun in HS and was pretty popular. If the rich kids acted up...they'd be taught a lesson....the rich kids generally weren't the tougher guys in school....if anything... it was wise for any rich kids to play it down, Actually we had a good number of Jewish people who came from families who were 'comfortable'...if anything...some of these rich Jews were bullied at times. Ya...it might be different up here. In HS...the black guys were popular....why?...because they were either jocks, funny and/or could dance....lol. They may have been called one...but I never witnessed a whitey calling a black guy a n***** in HS. I also never saw them fight due to racism. Most of the black guys were not pansy boys....so if any whitey boy said something to them....the whitey would get punched out.

There were only 2 black students in my class...not class as in a single course class...class as in the whole graduating class. Only 1 Asian student. All boys school. It wasn't a school with rich kids. It was a rich kids school. Country Club right across the street (which I will admit had the most beautiful grass tennis courts...and a nice golf course. ShopRite is close to me...and from what I've seen crowds are sparse during the week...maybe I'll dip my toe in the water there...there was also an event in Rye, New York a few years ago (Sybase, maybe?)...too late for that... ...let me end by emphasizing again there is nothing wrong with being rich or poor...those guys back then were just spoiled rich kids that probably never earned anything at that age...maybe I need to let it go and head out to see Ariya play...or Michelle...yeah, yeah...I know, Wiesy not beloved here but if she and Ariya can get me to the course, that's a good thing 😁

You said you grew up poor....maybe even raised by a single mom....so how did she afford to send you to a private school attend by a bunch of rich kids? Live your life as you wish...but I think you should give up your country club stereotype/paranoia. As you know...there are dbags in all walks of life...not just rich people. As a yellow skinned, black haired Chinaman...I've played my fair share of golf at private clubs and have also attended my fair share of men and women's golf events at these private clubs and not once..... has any white boys made me feel uncomfortable or unwelcome....and if by the very rare chance they did...I'd have no issues dressing them down. In fact...I quite enjoy chatting with the members at golf events....you can learn a lot about the course and even better....learn lots about a pro if that specific member is hosting/housing a pro. In fact....a member of the Vancouver Golf Club (host to the 2012/2015 CWO) who housed Jodi Ewart in 2012....I met and chatted with him at the Safeway (Portland). At the 2015 CWO....he picked me out of a gallery of 30 people to say hi and chat....I never would have remembered him. He also housed Korda in 2015 along with Jodi....Jodi and Korda are BFF. I'm sure if this guy was a country club snob...no way would he bother to pick me out of a crowd to chat with some guy who eats chicken feet and egg rolls For me.....1/2 the reason I want to attend some specific events is to gain access to see the private club's course that I normally would have no access otherwise. I heard Sahalee is an AMAZING course so I attended the 2010 USSO...I was awestruck.....6 years later .......I was still salivating about Sahalee at the KPMG. I've played on several of Vancouver's private clubs...but have accessed all the the private clubs by attending specific golf tournaments. I actually feel quite privileged to access these clubs ......and I appreciate it. Yes....go attend the Shoprite. It's free if you have a Shoprite card....and if you PM Phil...he'll be able to help you find a flea bag motel for under $30/night...tax included. Heck...you could even bum a ride with Xman from Rusty's playhouse. TonyJ also attends....so you'll have 3 guys to chat while you are fanboying. You need to see Ariya SMASH her ball and see how far she can hit it. Wie might be retired to her kissing booth in Jupiter in 2017....but if she does play Shoprite....you'll see 1st hand that she's not an engaging pro to watch...she's a BIG sham.

Wie might be retired to her kissing booth in Jupiter in 2017....but if she does play Shoprite....you'll see 1st hand that she's not an engaging pro to watch...she's a BIG sham. I wasn't really poor...that's me overstating it....I was just made to feel that way by the super rich kids. I was working middle class. I come from a family of academics. I was at the rich, private school because of a scholarship program that took highly achieving minority students and placed them in private schools. The problem is, I was already in a great public school, The Julia R. Masterman School in Philadelphia, which has been the top rated public school in Pennsylvania for several decades. It is a magnet school with a 3% acceptance rate for high school. Very tough to get in. I didn't need to go to a private school to increase my chances of getting into a great college. But I had an aunt, who was a high school teacher, that convinced my grandparents, who were raising me at the time, that private school was a better option. At this time, I had already turned down a chance to go to Exeter because my grandfather was sick with cancer and I didn't want to be far away. I had a stepmother, who was a university professor, who tried to argue that I was fine where I was. She was outvoted. Long story short, I actually graduated from high school in Ohio after that same stepmother received a teaching position at Ohio University. My grandfather had passed away by that time so I went to Ohio with that stepmother. As fate would have it, I ended up turning down some bigger name universities to go to OU, since the discount made it practically free...aaannnnddd there was this girl I was seeing at the time who also went to OU...if I could go back in time, I'd have broken up with her and headed to Cal-Berkeley. Yeah, I should get over the country club thing...but I am old enough to remember not being able to even get into a country club. The one across the street from the school I attended didn't allow black members at that time. In my mind, if I ever have a golf fantasy, it would be me winning the US Open on a muni. The Masters? Heck no. They are 100% allowed to have whatever kind of membership they want. I am also 100% allowed to feel some kind of way about it. I know things have changed a little...but the history of those places...checkered, at best... But let me leave you with this guarantee...I can't guarantee I'll show up at an event (and even if I did, I'd want to hang out alone not with people on the board), I can't guarantee things like what happened with rowdy fans at Ryder Cup won't rub me the wrong way in the future...but I can ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE that Michelle Wie, whenever she retires, will be a multiple Major winner! Do like Rory's dad and lay down money on the bet far in advance...you'll thank me later!

LMAO fanofseri's crack pipe has been very popular as of late. Go to an event and you'll see how snobby and not very fan friendly MW is...kinda like those country club kids you don't like....believe me.
