I've only been able to watch bits and p[arts while painting the house. Amazing size galleries for a FAKE exhibition considering no one lives nearby. Exhibition or not, the RC has become bigger than the majors. When tiger woods , who normally doesn't give a sxxx about anything but Tiger woods, volunteers to be an assistant, it just shows the magnitude of the event. The Ryder Cup is just a bunch of rich golfers competing in an exhibition. People are treating it like it's a war. I am very upset that they do not show the LPGA live, to talk all night about it.

The goons in the gallery make this pitiful exhibition tough to watch. Greed, nationalism, alcohol and inbreeding are a dangerous mixture. Willett's brother was spot on.

I can't imagine how many times IGC would back off from the ball if she played in front of a Ryder Cup gallery.

Fortunately Arnie was cremated. Because he wouldn't be able to stop spinning in his grave watching this fiasco.

Although the United States is struggling at the moment, the tide will turn and the Task Force will win out. This exhibition has badly damaged the reputation of men's professional golf. Both sides should be embarrassed by their behavior. Just another reason to stick to watching the women.

The goons in the gallery make this pitiful exhibition tough to watch. Greed, nationalism, alcohol and inbreeding are a dangerous mixture. Willett's brother was spot on. This is a post I held off writing for years, but seems timely right now. I've often been asked that of I love golf so much (I would correct that to say women's golf), why don't I attend events. I've given many excuses but none have been the truth. This is why. I realize this is behavior brought out by the Ryder Cup atmosphere, but to me it just means it's there under the surface...these blowhards just feel the Ryder Cup atmosphere gives them license to let their true nature out. As a poor kid who went to school with lots of generationally wealthy rich kids, I know not all of them act the same. But there were enough of them that judged me by my skin color and economics that it has left me a bit apprehensive. They made sure I knew I wasn't welcome there. I won't back down. I'd rather watch golf on tv than go have a confrontation with some idiot like the guy who berated Rory. If everybody at events were like the people in this forum, I would have no problem...but what I have seen and heard about over the years tells me that isn't the case. Forget the crowds, just the behavior of some of the caddies is boorish enough to keep me away. I'm no shrinking violet. I like rowdy fans to a point. What strikes a nerve with me are rich, arrogant fans with no filter who think they have the right to be nasty with people. Ok, you have that right...but I have the right to come back at you. Don't let my blog posts fool you. I am a peace loving Buddhist, but my patience has a limit. But in that situation, I have to be aware that even if provoked, I will be judged in a way the rich guy won't be. There is a high probability that security will come and have a bias against me. Better to stay home. Some have asked why I go to tennis events when that sport also has country club roots. Sure, that's historically true but the crowd at tennis events is far more diverse from a socio-economic standpoint. That was true even before Serena and Venus. So bottom line is when I see my fellow Americans behaving as they have this and other weeks at Ryder Cup it reminds me of those rich bratty kids I went to school with...again, it's not all rich people...money doesn't make you an a-hole...but if you were already an a-hole, it can make things worse. I wasn't made to feel welcome back when I was a kid. I don't feel like going to an environment where I don't feel welcome now. edit: by the way, in case you think I misinterpreted things, they told me to my face they didn't want black kids at their school.

Well you guys can look for me in a USA hockey jersey tomorrow but I bet there will be about 1000 of them there. Getting up before the grounds crew to try to make the first tee. USA You and 44,999 others were following four groups. Did you actually see anything? I should attend next year's President's Cup in Jersey City to see if any sickos show up...frankly, I would expect it to be much less heated since the USA wins it almost all the time.

I heard mid 50 Ks by 10am on friday at the game. It wasn't my first Ryder Cup rodeo so I knew what to expect. (bring a mini folding stool and you can stand behind everybody else and see fine. it's technically contraband. I put a lot of kids or shorter people on it and make their day.)

I am setting a goal to attend Paris or at the very least Kohler in 2020. I believe I can say some things (in my quiet normal voice) to Patrick Reed, Mickelson (if he is still alive), Dustin Johnson and Zach Johnson that will get one of them to take a swing at me. In fact, I'm certain of it.

You really have to put yourself in the fans shoes at this thing. Especially Friday and Saturday, you see ZERO golf. By the time the players come around to your hole (2-3 hours) people are dying to take part in the atmosphere they've heard echo through the course. If the first thing they have a chance to cheer for is a ball going in a bunker or rolling off a green, it will be cheered. I would say by 85% of normal human beings in that situation. They need to get really aggressive about people heckling during pre-shot routines. But after the ball is in the air, it's the conditions of the environment that drive the behavior. It's not going to change. Overall I'd say the crowds were amazing. After 2 days I never heard one bad heckle or saw a pre-shot routine shout mess up a player. But I wasn't following Rory or Danny W. much. I think everything is more frustrating to watch on TV than being there live. Those shouts from fans really show up on TV.

Don, are you the one who's escorted out after confronting Rory? I've never been a Rory fan. I'm w/ Tiger until he catches and passes Jack real soon. But Rors won me over this week big time. He's the box-office star of the tour right now.
