I've always been indifferent to Cristina Kim but she was wrong to rat out SYSR to Whan. He was Se Ri's biggest fan. They didn't kick him out. They just let him know he was a "person of interest". He could have had lunch with Se Ri. Just imagine you are a girl and someone tells u "you know where to find me". Xtina did the absolute right thing. Better safe than sorry.

In Gee has an appropriate nickname...as The Good Doctor says....she hears everything. She backed off quite a few shots this week, She was near the ropes in the rough by me at Sahalee.....the gallery was not large at all......she backed off a shot.....I heard nothing and looked around and saw nothing. I played golf with a recovering drug abuser....friend of a friend of a friend. He'd back off a shot and look up for a few seconds....I swear he was seeing/imagining demons. When Dr. #1 first explained Dumbo's name iirc he said it was because she can hear everything. Then "THEY" got to him and made up some BS about curious baby elephants. I don't have the link but trust me I read it. It was on the internet. I've heard both of those explanations for the nickname from the start. My guess is the noise one came first, but In Gee decided she liked the curiosity one so they ran with it.

As much as I enjoy the rise of In Gee and So Yeon; it's concerning that only eight out of the top 25 on Rolex are non-Asians. Out of those eight, Brooke and Lexi are the only ones less than 29 years old.
The message is clear, unless things change Asians will be more dominant in the foreseeable future.
They haven't done it yet; but isn't it time Jessica, Nelly, Charley, Alison, Danielle, Gaby, Meghan, Annie and Hannah start to deliver it week in and week out on the course.

There's some good stuff in the Sept. 19 issue (above) regarding this tournament and other women's golf stuff:
Page 14: Brandel implies that Dumbo is the new Sam Snead.
Page 16: Annika will put her foot down on bad sportsmanship at the 2017 Solheim Cup.
Page 16: The LPGA and LET are in talks to make the Scottish Open a co-sanctioned event in 2017. It is scheduled one week before the WBO.
Page 18: In Rio, the Korean women's golf team stayed in a series of apartments costing £2,000 per week.

I've heard the golf industrial complex is starting to call it a Big 4 now. I knew this Big 3 non-sense was leaving out too many great young players. And we're dealing with 18 and 19 year olds with the "Big 3." Any one of those 3 might fall off the map. TBH I could actually see it being Ko if she goes into a crisis trying to mess with her swing. Henderson's had a good season, but I'm not buying her as part of any Big Three with less than a year of top level experience and a fair amount of dross among the good finishes. In Gee is on the cusp of being in that conversation, but let's wait and see if she can get into the winner's circle more consistently. Basically, I'm still seeing it as Ko, Inbee when she gets back to health, and a bunch of talented women who occasionally reach that level but not as consistently. At their very best, Inbee has no equal, but Ko is at her best more often than Inbee is at hers. By the way, I tried to add up In Gee and Henderson's ROY points to see what they were. When I add In Gee's points up I get 1171, which is less than the 1224 she is credited with. I'm using the Wikipedia scoring system: Wikipedia LPGA entryWhere am I going wrong? Am I missing something? My assumption is 6th = 62, 7th = 59, etc., down to 5 for 25th and higher. But the text says that 41st and higher gets 5, which would imply I'm misunderstanding the addition... (by the way, Henderson would have 1289 if my math is correct. Interestingly, though, In Gee is ahead of Henderson in Player of the Year points). Also, I've been reading several sites that claim that In Gee has secured the Rookie of the Year award, which I'm almost certain can't be true this early, even with her big lead.

While we're at it, this link is another great article about the Evian from that magazine: Smiling Chun Walks Away with EvianBesides lots of stuff about In Gee and how cool she is, we learn that she is still struggling with her back problems from luggage gate, even using warm pads on her lower back in cool weather like in France. And there is a quick shout out to So Yeon Ryu, who is called a 'delight', and Sung Hyun Park, who is compared to 60s model Twiggy (!).

There are 8 more tournaments (7 if no Reignwood) on schedule, so mathematically In Gee hasn't secured Rookie of the Year award. Practically; she did long time ago. I've got correct Rookie of the year total for In Gee using: One to Forty 150 80 75 70 65 62 59 56 53 50 48 46 44 42 40 38 36 34 32 30 29 28 27 26 25 24 23 22 21 20 19 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 11 10 5 points for making cuts but T41 or worse Double points for majors

The comments on Golf Channel's In Gee article have grown to 109; this is healthy.

Suzann in return also throws Annika and Carin under the bus. Carin wasn't interviewed for the story so couldn't throw this time. But if I remember correctly, Carin already threw Suzann in an interview last year. So we "are good" . Are we seeing the beginning of the end of the LET ? They are already on a bare bone schedule this year.

So do you chat when Tom when you see him at an event?........I've yammered with him twice in the last two years.....he acts like a Euro gigi pretty boy metrosexual. I was completely starstrucked when I saw him and only thought of taking a picture with him. ( Thanks to minimalist golfer as my wing man). I was surprised by how tall he is in real person. He was actually in the middle of his pro-am round, and just like every member over at WRX, he plays Titleist blades.

Found this in the back of the players guide, same as 18m says. In 2015, the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year point system will award points to rookies based on their fi nishes: 1st place – 150
points; 2nd -80; 3rd-75; 4th-70; 5th-65; 6th-62; 7th-59; 8th-56; 9th-53; 10th-50; 11th-48; 12th-46; 13th-44; 14th-42; 15th-40; 16th-38;
17th-36; 18th-34; 19th—32; 20th-30; 21st-29; 22nd-28; 23rd-27; 24th-26; 25th-25; 26th-24; 27th-23; 28th-22; 29th-21; 30th-20; 31st-19;
32nd-18; 33rd-17; 34th-16; 35th-15; 36th-14; 37th-13; 38th-12; 39th-11; and 40th-10. Positions 41 through each player making the cut
receive fi ve points each. All points are doubled for the fi ve LPGA major championships.The POY doesn't reward low end Top 10's as much as the ROY does (10th in the ROY is 33% of 1st, in the POY points scheme it's 3%) and while Henderson has had more Top 10's than In Gee half of them have been 9th or 10th.

Japan Women's Open is shaping up to be quite a show; Jenny Money, So Yeon, Hyo Joo, In Gee, Ai Miyazato and Mika Miyazato all listed in the field.

The comments on Golf Channel's In Gee article have grown to 109; this is healthy. Maybe so. But quite frankly I find this site to be the most vibrant site for golf discussion, not only Korean LPGA players but LPGA players in general.

All across Internet, In Gee has smitten many a new fans from Evian; the same way she did with me from Lancaster US Open.

What we need in the LPGA is a major championship tournament held in KOREA!
