I'm glad Inbee is well. It wouldn't make sense to attend the opening ceremonies. The wait for the start of golf is too long.
Inbee's participation at Samdasoo Ladies Masters is a giant f u to the LET and Woburn. Gotta love it.

Ya...no need for Winbee to hurry down to the cesspool. ...but Rickie will be marching in the Opening Ceremony on Friday. The other three Americans are playing Hartford this weekend and are in the same three ball Thursday and Friday. Amazingly in an interview Matt Kuchar was under the mistaken impression that it was a team competition in Rio until the reporter reminded him otherwise.

Not only did I want Inbee to march in the ceremony, I think they should have made her the flag bearer. Seriously, is there another Korean athlete in the competition more accomplished than she is? (OK, you could make a case for Se Ri, who is there as a coach, but I think you DQ her because she's not actually competing).
As it is, the flag bearer is one of the fencers.

Maybe Inbee will decide to keep golfing, maintain her world ranking and carry the flag at Tokyo 2020.
However, Japan may force Korea to make Bo Mee Lee or Ha Neul Kim the flag bearer, even though they won't be on the team.

It's simple....Hyori Lee s/b the flag bearer....nuff said. Don't they Koreans dominate archery?

Don't they Koreans dominate archery? I had the same thought...an archer is a no-brainer. What have they done in fencing? I'll bet they're good at badminton and table tennis, too.

The Koreans are best at sports involving guns, clubs, swords, arrows and fists.

They are strong in fencing.
Do you recall this controversy from four years ago? It was a huge story in Korea:

That's typical as to why I don't watch too much Olympics.
Carrying the banner would probably be the only time you will see Inbee. Unless she is in top five final day of golf.

Thanks for reminding us about the fencing.
I became disgusted by the Olympics in 1988 when Roy Jones Jr. was cheated out of the Gold Medal in Seoul against an Si-hun Park. He didn't even belong in the same ring.
It was payback for 1984 when the South Koreans got screwed in boxing at the LA Olympics against the US. The Olympics are more often than not, an absolute joke.
That's why I say get rid of Solheim and the dopey UL Crown. It should be US vs. Korea. There is a score to settle.

Mini Rocket early leader in the clubhouse - 6. Kyu Baek -2 Final. Inbee plus 2 Final. I'm sort of torn. Part of me feels that, if Inbee can't manage a top ten this week, she probably should do the right thing and drop out of the Olympics (at the very least, I feel she has to make the cut). On the other hand, no other qualified player deserves the honor of being in the Games more than she does, based on what she has accomplished since 2012. Even if she isn't a factor in Rio, I wouldn't feel too bad about her being there.

Here's a new KLPGA commercial, featuring Gyeol Park, Chae Young Yoon, Hae Rym Kim and Hye Youn Kim. In Korean, of course.
And here's the ad for this week's event:
