This 18th is a joke of a hole....ya hit it into the right rough without any issues associated with it.....low rough and actually it could help.....a bit of usion to smoke a 2nd shot into a par 5....very very lame hole....a wayward drive on 18 should always be punished.

That was awful...not one birdie on the 1st playoff hole. Ya gotta luv how Ariya beats the crap out of the ball. Hmmmmmm....looks like they read this site and realize this is a goat track.....so it will be renovated. I know they said yesterday that Ariya's regular loop is away this week...her loop looks familiar.....Korda's regular loop? ...who does he loop for. OK....gotta go....time for some twilight golf. If Mirim doesn't win...expect Happy to whine that the REAL Koreans got shafted again for a win....lol. Hopefully I don't gag on the links this evening. Oh ya The Smiling Buddha 7.0 Happyfan 5.0

Mi-Rim fell apart. How disappointing. I hope she isn't the next Amy Yang.

Congratulation to Lydia for yet another win. Have not paid to much attention to how eighteen sets up. I didn't understand why Mirim or Ariya didn't give it a go with driver. At least a three wood for Ariya. They played into Lydia's hand. I knew sooner or later she would stick it close and make birdie. You just can't give a great player too many chances, because they will make you pay.

Wasn't it a pleasant sight to have the final round broadcast on CBS? How long has it been since Dottie Pepper commented during an LPGA tournament?
Too bad the ladies couldn't wrap it up before 3:30 my time. Thank the golf gods The Golf Channel picked up the action.
Practically everyone stumbled along the way to avoid winning outright. Even Mirim Lee blew her chance on 18 in regulation. Hyo Joo simply played poorly today. Can't give Lydia that many chances to clinch.

Ugh....got pulled off the course after 3 holes by the marshall.....major lightening storm.
WTF...get home to watch my recording only to find out it switched to GC....pure BS....so I couldn't watch the the 3rd and 4th playoff hole. Lydia, Mirim and Ariya should be embarrassed and turn their tour cards over to Whan. Huh....premier LPGA pros and it takes 4 holes (or 1 in 12 chances) for someone to birdie a straightforward par 5....blowup this course up.
The gals gotta stop playing these goat tracks....get on some REAL courses like Muirfield Village or Firestone....oh wait...those are only played on the REAL tour.
Congrats to the entitled and LUCKY Kiwi Princess who beat everyone with her "C' game.
I guess Happy isn't going to bother watching his recording....lol.

Mi-Rim fell apart. How disappointing. I hope she isn't the next Amy Yang. Same with HJK. The REAL Koreans are on a major GAG streak. The Korean Golf Federation needs to fix this ASAP....hire Se Ri's dad and set up a golf academy in a cemetery. Make Korea Great Again! At this rate...I wouldn't be surprised to see Team China bounce Team Korea from advancing to singles on Sunday next week.

Se Ri retired, then Inbee is hurt about to quit. The whole HaNa fiasco with In-Gee brought them both down. I really do fear what is going to happen at the International Crown. Korea might be embarrassed. Time to sign up to Shanghai-Sisters.

Hmmmmm.....I guess Merica just tuned out and now switched over to watch the 6pm news. 3 Asians in the playoff. "That's the spirit."

Lucky for Lydia they contested the playoff on the 18th hole and not in the parking lot.

Ji Young Oh is sporting a Callaway cap this year...maybe Hanwha dumped her.

Never heard of Rextar's...had to do a Google. My fav ball in the early 70's was the Ram Gene Littler. I liked Ram products as well. When I was on the junior high golf team, every match, we got one Wilson Sam Snead ball--it was a cheap ball. A slight mishit would cause a giant smile. We also each got a $2.00 allowance for lunch/dinner. I remember my father talking about what stuff cost in the 1920's/1930's. Now I sound just like him. One of my uncles was a really good golfer and he played Spalding Dots. He'd give them to me when they were a little ragged. I felt like a million bucks. I also liked MacGregor Tourneys. The first one piece ball I can recall was the Faultless, what a piece of junk.
My long-departed grandfather had some of these balls in a shag bag, but I never played them since I didn't take up the game until 1988. The first balls I bought were a box of 15 yellow Pinnacles. The first long drive champ, Evan "Big Cat" Williams, used to tout these balls.
Now for a REAL ball...I played one T/M RBZ Urethane ball for the entire round last Monday at Bunker Hill GC...darned good ball. Shot a 90 from the whites...okay, it's a short course even from the back tees, but it's easily the best golf I've played this year. It's cheap too...$20 walking rate after 3 PM.

Round 4 Youch! On the one hand, it was fun to watch Mirim make her steady climb up the leaderboard. I never thought 15 under would be enough to get her the win, let alone 14 under. But everything seemed to be setting up for her to get this win. And she just couldn't grab the brass ring. Bogey on the final hole was just painful. Then she had decent shots for birdies on her first three playoff holes and didn't make one. Meanwhile, Ko and Jutanugarn were giving her gift after gift in the form of missing short putts or not hitting good approaches. When Lydia missed that birdie on playoff hole #3 I couldn't even believe it. Mirim had such a great shot at birdie there, missed it, and it turns out had she made it she would have won. You just can't squander that many chances against Ko; I knew sooner or later she was going to make birdie, and Mirim had to make one first or go home. (Jutanugarn got a major break on the hole where she hit that horrendous approach behind the scoreboard. If she had had to play from anywhere near where that ball landed, no way she makes par. The drop gave her the chance to stay in it, although in the end she still lost). As frustrating as Mirim's near misses were, they were nothing compared to Hyo Joo. And as it turned out, as crappily as she played, she still had a chance to get into the playoff. Even after that ridiculous bogey on 16, she had a really good birdie chance on 17 and 18. Had she made both, she would have been in the playoff. But just nothing went right for her today. So, another annoying result for the Korean stars, but at least they were a factor this week. I feel like with Mirim and Hyo Joo playing better and Ha Na starting to come around, a big burst of success may be just around the corner. Go Sisters! Hwaiting!

I find most TM balls a bit clicky....as much as everyone raves about the Lethal....I'm just not 100% digging it.....the Tour Preferred is a pretty good ball. Although it's meant to perform this way...I find the Project(a) too spinny...therefore loss of distance. All these TM are basically just rebranded/named versions of their predecessors. I did like the TP Red/Black LDP series.....got my 2nd HIO with the Red. Here's a good link: golf-info-guide.com/golf-tips/equipment-choices/golf-ball-compression-chart-and-rank/Bunker Hill looks like a cow pasture ...lol...since the LPGA likes playing on goat tracks they should relocate the Shoprite here.

I know the Pros know way more than I do about golf. I just don't understand why they don't use their drivers more when distance want hurt them. I can understand driving through doglegs or into hazards. But worrying about accuracy is what I don't understand, when rough is the only problem.
One observation was Mirim Lee hitting a three wood, on the last playoff hole. She put a "Yani swing" on the three wood, a very hard swing. I would have thought a regular tee shot with a driver would have been better.
I am just a fan not giving up your advantage of length off the tee when possible.

I think when Mirim reached her final hole of regulation, she thought that 15 under wouldn't be enough to win, and pressed to make a birdie. As it turned out, had she made par and finished at 15 under, she would have won, and so had she played conservatively, she almost certainly would have walked off with the trophy. But hindsight is 20-20!
The fairway has a water carry crossing it, so if she had hit driver she risked going into the muck.
